I just have to say this. I am very happy for Crysis 2. The reason: this is a modern FPS based around a combat system and that isn't outdated or overused. There are literally 0 games like Crysis 2, and that is awesome. Best of wishes to Crytek. Though i do have a question, is everybody else as happy for Crysis 2 as me?

It doesn't seem too sarcastic. I think that the nanosuit thing is what he is talking about that makes it unlike other games.

I'd agree... but then there's the first Crysis... which would make it like Crysis 2... meaning there is another game like Crysis 2 already..

I think sarcasm.

What about Crysis 1?
Crysis 2 looks pretty good, especially it's graphics, although I'm not completely sold on it because I like to play multiplayer and it's multiplayer demo didn't really grab my interest enough.

Isn't the nanosuit all changed up for Crysis 2 and stuff. And I think that he might also play on a console, which Crysis I isn't on. He might have just been unclear.

From the reviews, id say the game is worth the single player alone.

I thought I heard it was different... then someone told me it was pretty much the same. I figure it's close enough to the first game. I guess I could Google it and find out for sure... but that would feel like a weakness.

I have it pre-ordered and am waiting till tomorrow to drive down and get it. I think it will be good. The stealth and different abilities do offer different strategies that aren't usable in other shooters. Even the ability to jump around offers a little more fun.

It seems like they might have dumbed it down according to the responses I've heard from people who played the leak.

It looks pretty good.

Though from what I've seen I think I still prefer the first two.

It is missing features that were present in Crysis, it's DirectX 9 only at launch, and the levels are designed with consoles in mind (linear). For these three reasons I probably won't be buying it for a few months, if at all. Chances are that Brink will be out by the time everything is sorted to my liking with Crysis 2. It doesn't seem like a bad game, but all the lying from Crytek on how the PC is still a big priority for them turns me off it.
What he said.

The demo completely put me off due to how consolized it was. Which normally wouldn't bother me, but when you've been hyping up how much you still care about the PC and its users, and how it won't be just another port, then release the demo with auto-aim, only 3 graphics settings(no graphics customization. At all. Its not even labeled that well. Gamer, Harcore and Advanced? The fuck?) it kind of stings a lot, you know?

Well I'm on the fence as to whether I'll buy it. Yes I think it'll be fun to play, but for starters, I already have Dragon Age 2 to finish up (only 22hrs played). And secondly, they didn't push the graphics to the limits that most PC enthusiasts expected. They don't even have DX11 eye candy in there. In fact I think DA2 is a more graphically demanding game than Crysis 2, if the demo is anything to go by. I get nearly the same FPS in both games, but Crysis demo only used 1 of my graphics cards (SLI and CF were unsupported at the time) while DA2 uses both my cards to the max.

So for me, it's a waiting game right now. I probably will buy it but not for a few days when either I cave, or I finish DA2, or I see the DX11 patch is out and the game is glorious... lol.

As you've no doubt noticed, IGN does not have a review up for Crysis 2 on the PC yet. I'll try to explain why that is, and what I think you should know about the PC version of the game while we wait to play through the final product ourselves.

Crysis 2 on PC does not include DirectX 11 support (right now).
This is a big one, and something I know will disappoint many of you hardcore PC enthusiasts out there. A few weeks ago, rumors whispered that a post-release patch would introduce DirectX 11 support to Crysis 2, and during GDC, Crysis 2 Producer Nathan Camarillo told us to expect more information "soon." There hasn't been an update since then, and Nvidia's Crysis 2 page has removed any mention of DirectX 11 support.

To be completely honest, we've never seen Crysis 2 in DirectX11, to my knowledge. Or, if we did, it didn't look appreciably different from the DirectX 9 version of the game shipping to retail and launching on services like Direct2Drive and Steam.
And I'm also very happy that it now plays in close-quarter corridors with lots and lots of scripted cut-scenes and takedowns. It was too exhaustive for my brain to be able to attack from different directions and handle missions in many different ways.

Thanks CryTek!
After all the hype and the money from Nvidia this is what we get. See no reason to rush out and get it now. Will wait some months and pick it up when it's price drops, like I do with all console ports. Or will wait to see what any patches add. Not much, if DX 11 was not included early on in development.

Good luck to crytek with their move to consoles and sales of the game. But they no longer can lay claim to being graphic innovators any more. I mean really why is this not a bigger story, apart from PC gamers being used to being sh@t upon these days. Crytek releases the sequel to Crysis with a DX version lower that the original. If I had said that 6 months ago I would have been laughed out of any discussion.

Bet those guys who signed the petition to say they will definitely buy the game even though it was leaked, so that Crytek would keep the faith with the PC, are now feeling pretty stupid.

Wish I had known before shelling out for two high end Nvidia cards some months ago to play this beast. Graphics melting game my ar ....

If you guys honestly care this much about graphics then you should shut up and stop playing video games. I'm sorry every game doesn't have graphics that look like Crysis on max settings.

CryTek are attempting to distribute Crysis 2 to the consoles and gain more fans, which also leads to much more profit compared to having it as a PC exclusive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Why did Bethesda make another Fallout? Why did Bungie make another Halo? They aren't going to do that for fun. I'm not a video game developer but I do know that creating video games as a career does not pay very well.

I'm very interested in this game pretty much solely for one reason: invisibility. Granted, there are other shooters with invisibility, like Halo: Reach and Killzone 3, but in both of those games, invisibility is tailored to suit campers by making movement turn the player more visible.

Personally, I don't really care about Crysis 2. The problem, I guess, is that most people I talk to don't mention the abilities, or the nanosuit, or anything else - when asked why they want Crysis 2, they instantly reply, "the graphics". As a dual PC/console gamer who had the time of his life playing Fallout: New Vegas in 600x800 windowed mode, with all the settings as low as possible...well, graphics don't mean a lot to me.

Also, their advertisements have really failed to catch my attention. The recent one, showing off some of the abilities? It sounded like they were naming off features from Halo: Reach. I'm not saying those various abilities aren't original (I honestly don't know either way), but the ads have done a terrible job of engaging me.
