The other day I was at a concert and over the course of the last 3-4 hours or so, there were a bunch of girls behind me who kept touching my hair (something that's a bit of a beserk button for me) and grabbing my ass and other really great things like that. Then there was a 36 year old guy next to me, who I'm pretty sure had 2 wives or girlfriends or a really odd relationship with his daughter. Near the end of the concert, this guy grabbed my hand dragged it across his crotch. Yeah. I'm not sure if he knew it was me, but it was uncomfortable.

After being thoroughly sexually assaulted for about 3 hours, which is not all that fun, the concert was over and I was almost home. This was the point when I realised that I was aroused really, really angry. Not so much at the people there but at myself for putting up with all that for so long without saying anything, which is something I always thought I wouldn't do.

I was wondering whether my fellow Esacplians have ever endured anything.. unpleasent at a concert, and what was it? And if any of you have ever gone against, or acted differently to, a belief you held about yourself like I did, and what you wish you had said in that situation which probably would have ended it, or at least made you feel better. Mine is the title.

Teehee, accidental Bioshock references.

Only been to two concerts, and both were just fine. Sorry to hear you were in an uncomfortable situation.

In terms of going against my own personal beliefs, no, can't say I have done something against them.

Dude. Just imagine being a girl at a concert!

I had one guy shove his hand down the front of my pants once which was rather unpleasant.

And this guy I was behind turned around and tried to get off with me then and there haha. When I wouldn't he put his hand on my face, stood on my feet and pushed my backwards so I'd fall over! Luckily the guy behind me saw what was going on, held me up and elbowed the guy in the face.

But yeah, girls seem to spend the whole concert trying to enjoy music and keep their fucking clothes on D= I don't mind the odd ass grab but it just goes too faaaaar.

Especially if they're fat and disgusting D=

I did have something like that. This one random fellow kept slapping me on the arse at some festival.

I still don't know why. He did it about 3 times, but I told him to stop or I'd fucking kill him and he stopped.

Even though I probably couldn't. Still, it always helps to be assertive in those situations.
I'd always thought I'd be able to pull off assertive, but I don't really do well in public at the best of times so it was difficult to find it in me. Not to mention everyone was so squashed together it would've been difficult to turn around and sound confident whilst being knocked by everyone else around me.

My hair's long so girls can touch it.

If that was me I do apologise, but if you little 'uns will stand in my way theres not much I can do about it.

Fortunately I'm physically repellent enough to not worry about groping of any kind. One night at a local gay bar though I walked past a group consisting of two guys and a girl and my arse was grabbed. I really hope it was the girl.

Should have pounded the guy in the nuts. That was practically sexual assault, if you ask me.

As for the girls, turning around and sternly telling them to please piss off may have done the job.

Never been harassed, thank fuck.

However once (I think it was an Amon Amarth gig), there was a really short fat guy pogoing behind me, and every time he bounced up in the air, his belly hit me in the small of my back.

It was most unpleasant.

Other than that, never had any bad experiences at gigs, even metal gigs. I remember at a Down gig, some twat was really drunk and running around the pit smacking an elbowing people then some massive bloke laid him the fuck out, looked like he broke his nose. Thats was great :D

It is sexual assault. But he was kinda burly and I didn't want to risk getting my ass handed to me in the last 5 minutes after being there for about 8 hours.

Yeah, but I really, really don't want to get into any of those stories here. lol. I'd probably get modded for going into too much details. But I've had stuff similar, and beyond the stuff in the OP happen.

It was more irritating than anything for me though. And I did kinda yell at someone for it, but just because they were trying to be a pervert about it.

I saw a lad being bullied today for being Jewish and even though the arsehole bullying him said horrible, disgusting things about hitler being a good man, I was too much of a pussy to help the lad and I am deeply ashamed of myself.

i go through something similar to that everyday...at least the hair thing. I go to a 95% white school, and I'm black, and I'm also the only kid with an Afro there, so for some reason everyone thinks that just because my hair is poofy is going to make it feel different then everyone elses. someone even asked me one time if my hair acted like a sponge whenever i take a shower.

I'd rather be not touched by strangers whilst I'm alive, y'know, when I can feel it? I don't like being touched by anyone, but especially stangers.

I laughed at the last bit and now I feel bad. At the school I attended before I left there was another black guy who had to endure pretty much what you did, I can't even count the amound of times one of his friends tried to make me touch his hair. I never saw the big deal.
