Alot of people did't like Metallica's album St. Anger, but I like it. It's not great, but hey, it's metal, love it or leave it.
I cannot bash St Anger. Its not great, but it introduced me to metallica, and made me check out their better stuff. Its like drinking chocolate milk, only to find out later that you were missing the ice cream. Sure it was delicious, but good lord it wasn't a milk shake

Paul Blart: Mall Cop. That movie is goddamn funny.

Also: House of the Dead: the Movie. It was cheesy stupid fun.

Runescape. Its free and good for killing a few hours. (Although I do hate that the entire population seems to be 12 year olds. Hard to train when the chat box is filled with "XD" and "Lololol")

Oh and Alpha Protocol. Its good fun when playing as a spy. Sort of like an arcadey Splinter Cell.

I actually LOVED Too Human. The camera got aggravating, but if you took out the part where you had to grind so much to get the artifact armor, I would have given the game a 9, personally. I did really hate the grind for that armor, though.

I enjoy the Star Wars prequels also, but mostly as a guilty pleasure. Same with the second and third Matrix films. I like Star Wars TFU 1 but 2 was really pushing it I think. Aaaaaand that's all I can think at the moment really.

I thought the first three Star Wars movies were not just fine, they are excellent. I will never understand why everyone thinks they are shit.

Except for Jar Jar Binks, he could be erased from everyone's minds and I wouldn't care. He truly did serve NO purpose.
I didnt like Jar Jar, either, but he technically did serve a purpose. He was a patsy for Palpatine to get the future empires military rolling.

I love to listen to the Spice Girls, Avril Lavigne, watch Chick-Flicks, skim womens magazines (to find pictures of hot women to put on my wall), and other girly stuff. theyre fun, at the right place and time, and pretty funny too! (hint: drop dead gorgeous is one of the funniest movies ever made, WATCH IT)
sex & the city can eat a d*ck, thats a retarded movie. (all opinions)

I love rap and hip hop and country when the meaning is sensible (actually i do listen to...lets call them "horny" songs, i just see the multiple-f-bombing songs to be less meaningful...)

I love winter and snow, suck it fools! xD

I'm sure the twilight books are decent, but the fanbase and movie appearance has butchered everything i should be able to enjoy to any degree about them...oh well.

I love Halo to death, imperfections and all. same with final fantasy. Love playing modern warfare shooters, but i do think they're all becoming very repetitive and done the same, but they still are a blast to play!

And I'm LDS (or Mormon)! and still have a bad habit of swearing, which I'm working on. and I'm sure of my religion and will not deny it to or for anyone or anything.

hey, this is fun!!

well to be honest I like a number of seemingly unpopular things but I'm not entirely sure about their popularity, I don't THINK a lot of people like them though

Final Fantasy XIII

I actually liked this game, I thought the paradigm system was interesting....true levelling up became a lot more basic but in my opinion it was still better than that sphere grid crap FFX had....I like FFX just not the sphere grid...but not X-2 or twelve I'm afraid I agree with the fanboys on those, but 13 had great character development, (I thought) I've played games with worse soundtracks and I didn't even mind Leona Lewis being put in for the western theme song for no reason, I thought it was oddly fitting...although I do prefer the original japanese one and as slow as it was I enjoyed the story

the Dragon Ball Z games

yes I still buy these, I went out and bought Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 the day it came out, sure it's the same story each time save for some what-if stories...and RB2 didn't even have that, and the gameplay is completely broken but damn it it's fun....unless you play it online...then it becomes extremely annoying...damn stun-lockers

Metal Gear Solid 4

this was the game I got with my first PS3 several years ago...and through all the games I've traded in I still have this one. I wasn't a fan of Old Snake but the game had so many good things about it, as a MGS fan I loved the nostalgia factor when you went back to Shadow Moses, the epic fistfight at the end, all that stuff. the soundtrack wasn't as good as I hoped for but good enough, and I still play Metal Gear Online I didn't even mind that 85% of the game is cutscenes

well I'm just gonna give a list from this point on

Dragonforce

all 4 seasons of Heroes (even 2...though to a lesser extent)

the Star Wars Prequels

Star Wars The Force Unleashed (I like both games but admittedly TFU2 was a huge letdown...gameplay was fun though)

the last saga of Dragon Ball GT, I thought the shadow dragons were a good idea, though admittedly I didn't care for the rest of GT, I love the rest of Dragon Ball/DBZ though

the 2009 Star Trek movie...that may be because I've never watched Star Trek in any other form but I still liked it

Kingdom Hearts 2...also Kingdom Hearts if that counts

the first Mortal Kombat movie...yeah

the Mortal Kombat Konquest TV series...if you could stop taking it seriously it was quite entertaining

Lair,

there are more but I can't think of them right now

Personally, I think most of those things are awful, but if you like them, then It shouldn't matter what other people think about them.

In the sense of the escapist community (I think) these are my oddities -

ME series was good but not great, the conversation wheel system is terrible, the paragade system is terrible, shepard is a boring bland wooden plank, not a character, and does not allow you to project since you are shoehorned into the paragade nonsense.

Didnt like cod4, liked cod3, bloops.

Play wow, loving it so far, good fun with my friends.

NOT excited for episode three. At all. Not really excited for portal two. Didnt find the appeal in the half life series.

Other M was grand, and Samus did not have a whiny annoying voice. I was glad to have any voice. And I loved it.

In general, I conform to non conformity.

That will do for now, I think. Feels....cathartic, I suppose.

because so many people have commented on this i feel the need to point out that i've already addressed my overuse of the apostrophe in my posts....please feel free to either get over it, or just ignore it as i've already said my peace on this with post #39 of th'forum, so please...GET OFF MY BACK ABOUT THIS!!!!
First, you sir are asking for trouble with your rant/unnecessary standing up for your liked things. Okay you like them so what do I care? I may or may not like the same things as you but thats my opinion and this is yours but if I don't force you to accept my opinion why should you?

Second, the last line of the above quote is also a very bad move.

Kane and Lynch. All the haters are a) not skilled enough to play the game as it's meant to be played and b) not smart enough to understand that the game is an homage to Chinese noir shooters. Having said that, I'm on board with hating the sequel. It was beautiful but lacked all the cool things about the first game.

Wes Anderson movies. Never understood people who hate on him. I'm kind of turned off by his emphatic defense of the child rapist Roman Polanski, but as a filmmaker he's great.

M. Night Shyamalan movies. With the exception of his last one, they are all fantastic. Yes, even The Village and Lady in the Water. And Unbreakable is maybe in the top five movies ever made.

One thing on the original post's points...liking the "Twilight" series doesn't make you unique. They're insanely popular. That's like saying "I don't care what ANYbody says, dammit, I like ice cream!" I mean, I hate Twilight myself, but I can look around me and see I'm maybe the one person in America who does.

I've got something I hate that people seem to love!

Inception. I have many reasons for this.

- Leonardo DiCaprio is, and always has been, an utter tool. He has never made a good movie, in my opinion. Titanic was boring and long-winded, Shutter Island was basically "They woke up and it was a dream", Catch Me If You Can was a jumbled mess, and the only good thing about The Departed was "Shipping Up To Boston" by Dropkick Murphys.

- The ending which EVERYONE knows by now, was entirely unnecessary. I'm sorry, but why couldn't they have wrapped it up instead of trying to be all deep and give the plot a few extra possibilities? It was just a terrible idea that was SOOOOO cliché.

- The movie idea in general was so iffy. Stealing/planting ideas from/into people's dreams? Seriously? No. Just plain ridiculous.

Oh, if you say "Oh, you obviously just didn't understand it hurr hurr derp!", no, fuck off, I understood perfectly what was going on, it was just overrated SHIT.
Would you have preferred "Shia LaBeouf gawking for two hours" or "Michael Cera plays an awkward teenager" or "OMGTERRORISTS"?
I'm glad they tried to be fresh with it, and personally think they succeeded.

OT: I liked The Force Unleashed(seems to be universally regarded as disappointing) and [Prototype] (often ignored/forgotten/hated)
I think Dead or Alive 4 is a competent and fun fighting game, and Halo 3 is the same thing for FPS'. Best of all, it's not all shit brown and gritty.

My first question is why is the OP writing like he's an extra from Firefly?
Oh, god, that describes it perfectly! I'm going to have to reread the OP in Adam Baldwin's voice now. Jayne just never gets boring.

On topic: Y'know what MovieBob? I LIKED The Book of Eli, DAMMIT!

This was the first and so far the only time I've ever disagreed with one of his reviews. I don't get what his problem is with it. So what if it has a fairly straightforward plot? It's Denzel Washington getting his Mad Max on. For Jesus! His review almost sounds like the only reason he didn't like the movie was because it was about protecting the Bible. Which would be ridiculous, because there's no way that a guy that knowledgeable about films, television, and other media should dislike a decent movie just because it revolves around a values system that differs from his own.

Whew, that was a lot of words. Sorry about that.
