Well, it's a long and fascinating tale.

It all began when I decided I wanted a new avatar. I thought to myself, "I don't like my current avatar, and I want a new one! But what would make a good avatar? Something distinctive, that no one else would ever use!" I thought for a bit, and then I had an epiphany! Richard Nixon doing the "Peace symbols" thing in that famous picture! It was perfect! So I did an image search for Richard Nixon, and found this bitching picture of him making what can only be described as a "Fuck Yeah" gesture, and decided that was better.

The rest, as they say....Is history.

Recently changed my avatar to this one. It's the Red Guy, a character from an old cartoon show called Cow & Chicken, and I chose him because, quite frankly, he's hilarious. Just look at him - he's fat, naked, and he's walking on his buttocks. xD

I really like Gummy. My old avatar had him too, and this one was offered to me as a gift.

It's a miniature I painted, for a TT skirmish game called Twilight [http://worldoftwilight.com/] (which has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with sparkly vampires, I'm happy to say).

The Last Unicorn was an animated movie that had very important meaning for me in my formative years, and still encompasses a lot of ideas that I feel can be used to explain my identity to people worth explaining it to in my life. Great book too, I found out years later. Anyway, long and complex story short, when I was 4 I thought I was a unicorn trapped in a little girl's body and today I look back fondly on that belief and use this as my avatar pretty much everywhere I can and/or think it's appropriate - anywhere without its own theme I suppose. I use appropriate game images for boards devoted to specific games, but pretty much everywhere else, I'm this.

My avatar is me.

As for why I chose that particular picture? Well I just happen to think it's a damn good picture of myself ^_^

I suppose mine warrants some explanation and it does have a story behind it.

So, I used to belong to another online community, which has sadly burnt out by now. There was one particular off-topic thread where somehow the movie Bambi got brought up. I forget how the discussion got there, maybe the thread was about Disney movies or something, I dunno. Anyway, one girl was just going on and on in a big wall-'o-text post about how Bambi had this great environmental message and how it was one of the first movies to explore Humanity's horrible, horrible mistreatment of all the other pretty things that this planet has managed to cough up. Well, I thought she sounded like a complete twit, and hippies piss me off something fierce, but instead of personally attacking her, I took an alternate approach. I ran a Google image search for "Bambi", found one that worked, then used a paint program to draw the rifle scope crosshairs over it. Then I posted a response claiming that I was responsible for shooting Bambi's mom and that I was patiently waiting for Bambi to grow into a strapping young buck so I could shoot him too. To drive the point home, I included the image I had just made in my post. When I joined the Escapist, I was pondering what to use as an avatar, when I remembered I had that "Bambi-hunting" pic I'd made. So, I scaled it down to avatar size and there you go. I think my avatar says a couple of things about me:

A: Seriously, hippies really do piss me off. Especially the ones who have no idea what they're talking about and have no sense of logic, which is all of them.

-and-

B. I can be kind of a bastard sometimes.

I noticed yours a couple of days ago. I LOVED that show. I remember when Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and Dexter's Lab ran as a block on Cartoon Network. After my classes I would drive to my friend's house, drink a case of beer, watch some toons and play Unreal Tournament. Good times, good times.

Those shows were a truly valuable part of my childhood. Not only did I have a blast watching them, but the very fact that I did watch them all the time is the reason my English skills and vocabulary are vastly superior to 95% of my peers even now that I'm at university. Who says immersion teaching can't be fun? :D

Tomoya Okazaki from the anime/manga/Visual Novel of Clannad and Clannad Afterstory.

I love the anime and visual novel a huge amount. To the point where he became my favorite anime character ever! Also I play him in the Escape Avatar Adventures. :D

Which only doubles the awesomeness of him.
