I was with a group of people that decided they wanted to try Dog in Vietnam. I ended up eating about half the plate because I didn't want it to go to waste after everyone else had their "experience." Didn't even like the taste.

Still, I was always more of a Cat person.

I eat cows, chicken, turkeys, pigs, fish, and shellfish. Never have I eaten cat or dog (I think...). I love my cat. He is like my child (I hate human children, will probably never have one). Me eating meat does not make me love him any less.

Vegetards are just morons who think of themselves as better than everyone else because they choose to not eat meat for whatever reasons.

And yes, Vegetards, not vegetarians, because most vegetarians that I have gotten to know aren't judgemental pricks.

I was a Vegetarian for a Year in 8th grade after seeing a PETA slaughterhouse video. If i had to Kill the animals myself I'd probably be a Vegetarian. But since i don't as far as i'm concerned Steak grows on trees.

I'd also Eat Humans as a Substitution since I like animals more than Humans.

Are you for real? I ate meat from animals that I saw alive a few minutes beforehand, because it's part of the natural cycle of life. Besides, we need to eat protein. An adult can live on tofu, but a child needs to eat meat for proper growth.

You're not being more empathetic or noble, by preferring to eat humans over animals. I'm not even sure what word I could use to describe you without receiving a warning. Maybe teenager who wants to be a misanthrope?

EDIT: Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, just don't try being judgmental over it.

We're omnivores, and since we live in a society that allows you to choose what you want to eat and both meat and other types of food are always available whether you eat meat or not is optional.

"Allows you to choose" is the crux of the matter here, isn't it? Anyone can eat what they want (mostly, cannibalism is still something I'd not touch with a 10 foot pole), as long as they let me eat what I want.

You can survive without meat there's no necessity for it. The human race wouldn't end if we all became allergic to the stuff. We're omnivores, and since we live in a society that allows you to choose what you want to eat and both meat and other types of food are always available whether you eat meat or not is optional.

That's kind of beside the point.
We have canines, we can digest meat. We are evolved to be able to eat animals. Just because it's physically possible to survive without it doesn't change the fact that we're suited to it.
Yes, it is optional, but the reason it's an option at all is evolution... and over-abundance of food.
If there was a famine and all your tofu was gone, you might suddenly find Rover much more appetizing.

The biggest hole in any "vegetarianism as moral stance" argument is that the grand majority of vegetarians would be more than willing to kill things like insects, spiders, snakes, rats, or mice on a whim, or if said animals happen to have the gall to intrude in their home.

If asked why they would do this they might say it's because the animal is very unintelligent(most applicable to fly swatting), and thus it's alright.

What's that, placing value on a life based upon its potential intelligence alone? Food (pun intended) for thought.

Anyway yeah. If many animals weren't raised for resources (excluding certain examples like veil or lamb), they'd be suffering and dying in the wilderness.

I don't hate animals. I am an omnivore designed to consume the ones of far lesser intelligence. So I do.

Kidding aside, that's not a sentiment I agree with, mostly because I'm not a vegetarian and I do love some animals. So, there. =D

I think I was more upset by the rampant misuse of apostrophes in the OP. I mean, come on, it's one of the few rules in the English language that has few enough exceptions to count on one hand. It's gotta be one of the easiest to learn.

But yes, there are some vegetarians out there who believe incredibly stupid things about the consumption of meat. No, there's no moral reason to be vegetarian. No, that doesn't make all vegetarians stupid. It's a personal choice, and if it makes you feel better about yourself, then great. Just don't undo whatever morality points you feel you earned by turning it into an excuse to be a dickhead.

This shit pisses me off. I LOVE my cat. In fact, I used to love both my cats, but the older guy had to be put down. He was suffering from a liver infection that led to kidney failure, had a feeding tube the last week of his life. If I saw this person in real life right now I would probably wind up in jail for assault.

*Sigh* Fine I will dignify this with a genuine and logical response. It is perhaps true that I can't love "animals" in an unqualified sense if I eat meat, and I do in fact eat meat. That is to say that I can't love every animal...

But, of course, that is a meaningless statement. No one loves EVERY animal: that's just silly.

There is, however, no reason that I can't love individual animals, or indeed even certain species of animals, as long as I don't eat them.


Personally, as much as I do love meat, I couldn't eat a cat... because I love teh kittehs!

The extreme to which they took that argument was idiotic. However, I would be lying if I said that it has never pissed me off how some people can gorge themselves silly on meat without a care in the world, but will recoil in disgust if they're ever told to do so much as pluck a chicken. I mean really, how hypocritical can you get? You want to be an omnivore? Be an omnivore. But don't then act like the farmer who has to cut Miss Piggy's throat in order to put yet another bacon roll in front of you is some kind of brute.

Well there's a major difference. The farmer is slaughtering an innocent farm animal that couldn't hurt a fly. I am eating meat that comes from a store, not an animal.

Jokes aside of course it's possible. I grew up on a farm and I genuinely loved those animals we had there. Over here most farmers care about their animals and do try to avoid causing them necessary pain. We never send animals off to the slaughter house in overloaded trucks, yes they are going to be killed once they reach their destination, but having them in pain for 6 hours while driving there is NOT OK. I love animals and I eat them. However I am not sure I would if I thought they were suffering before they turned into meat.

Also there's a difference between a cat that lounges in your bed and a cow you've never seen.
