Metal, Rock, Punk. My three favorites.

My fave band is more rock/pop, but it's indie, so... here's one of their most recent songs:

Metalcore. Like August Burns Red or All That Remains. And some metal.
I like some metalcore, but hate when they scream, because they always over-do it.

Anyway, all types of metal except death and black, and selected hard rock, punk, etc.
Ever heard of "Heaven shall Burn"?

Though hard to define, one of the most awesome bands.

Look'em up.^^
Just looked 'em up on youtube, they were pretty good but I didn't like the singer, thought he was too, I don't know, growly, maybe? Something like that...

The rest of was good, liked the riffs and such.

Classic Rock. Not metal, or country rock, or anything like those. Just good, old fashioned classic rock.

Stoner rock/doom metal. Two go fairly hand in hand, big slow heavy fuzzed out guitars. Saying that though i do like some electro and pop music. Also like a bit of classical and reggae and ska. So fairly mixed as my mp3 player can go from something like Too many DJ's to Electric Wizard to Girls Aloud to Edvard Grieg... often confuses passengers in my car.

Reggae and the various transformations of Ska. If I had to be more specific then probably Dub Reggae and and third generation Ska/ Ska Punk would have to be my favourites. Been a fan of Reggae music in general for quite a while, mainly Ska Punk acts like Sonic Boom Six [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1XalWiJt6g] and Reel Big Fish [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2NCF8PrK5s]. However, I have recently gotten more into earlier Ska [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1Pp3Ar3XX0&feature=related] and really into Dub Reggae [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgIv-T2QkRA] after having to study Reggae music as part of a College Course I'm currently in the final year of doing.

Melodic Scandinavian Metal.

What? I love bands like In Flames, Nightwish, and Children of Bodom.
Not sure I'd class In Flames or Children of Bodom as melodic(but then again, what do I know?), and Nightwish is finnish, in other words, not scandinavian (scandinavia is Norway, Denmark and Sweden, I'd know, being Norwegian).

OT: Pretty much anything 'cept rap, I suppose, with a preference for metal/rock
Edit: Forgot to mention that I hate 60's and 70's music - especially Led Zeppelin and the beatles - with a passion

For a long time, I never had a favorite. I just listened to whatever artist I fancied at the time. Now, however, I do have a favorite.

Symphonic Metal.

Nightwish and Apocolyptica, for example. :D

All kinds of extreme metal, but mostly technical death, progressive, avant-garde (such a pretentious name for a subgenre) and a dab of mathcore.

I cant understand people who listen to death metal and that stuff. It just sounds boring some guy screaming in the mic.
I know what you're saying, but it sounds like you're just scraping the surface. I found it all pretty intimidating at first too, but if you dig into it a bit, you'll find it's a pretty deep and diverse genre, with a ton of crazy talented artists.

Music from games I've played and enjoyed thoroughly. What? Don't act like you haven't been blasting the OST of InFamous, Valkyria Chronicles, Crysis, a mix of the Final Fantasy -series and other games while driving your car!

...

What? I'm the only one?

I guess this is why my friends rather have the radio on... =/ "Normal" music isn't really my style...

Most types of music appeal depending on my mood.
But classical, if I had to pick only one!

In Flames was one of the bands that founded Gothenburg Melodeath. But Children of Bodom are all over the place. I always thought Finland was part of Scandinavia, shows what I know I guess :D
