Both of those. A mixture of both, and anything that may fit under both of those (except for the heavier metal, I'm really into more melodical and softer music than heavy metal and death metal etc.).

This is the most difficult question I EVER get asked.

I tend to be a genre-skipper; My favourites include jazz, classic rock and metal. (Skipping things like rock 'n roll and this modern pop crap the kids listen to)

On balance, my favourite genre would probably be jazz music simply because I'm a jazz musician myself. I play what I like, and I like what I play.

(it's a bit of a self-proclaimed genre, but the Gorillaz are known for making music everyone has learned to accept as 'zombie hip hop' - well, except for the last album, which took quite an ugly turn.)

Metalcore. Like August Burns Red or All That Remains. And some metal.

I like some metalcore, but hate when they scream, because they always over-do it.

Anyway, all types of metal except death and black, and selected hard rock, punk, etc.

I like it because of some of its badass guitar breakdowns. Though some songs really have some good lyrics to it.
