You Find a Deathnote...

So, you find a deathnote. What do you do with it? Do you choose to be like Light and put your own brand of justice on the world? do you use it once, regret it, and never use it again? do you use it to gain personal power and wealth? or something in between?

You can choose to respond with your own "Philosophy" or simply respond with some people who you wouldn't mind not being around anymore.

Also, if this topic or thread has been around a lot, please go easy... as you can tell by my posts im new here (and new to all forums, really...)

Btw, I would not use the deathnote. I couldn't live with the guilt of ending a person's life (unless my own life was in danger and even then it would haunt me)

If it was real, like most people I'd imagine, I'd at leats test it to make sure.
Then I'd probably turn into a more amateurish Kira that would be caught easily.

I stay the hell away from it. If I can't destroy the Death Note in some way, I'd bury it somewhere where no one would ever find it. I enjoyed the anime, but one of those things in real life is just a bad idea.

Write the names of every country on the planet. See what happens.
Then I guess if nothing did, I'd just burn it. If I'm gonna go crazy and kill people, I would rather do it the old fashioned way.

I would either be completely unable to use it as I wouldn't be able to take a life, or I would become the new Light, except I wouldn't proclaim myself as new God of the world, and I wouldn't get caught (idiotic ego at work here.)

I'd probably end up using it. Anyone I used it on I'd have already justified it to myself about so I wouldn't feel guilty. Also, getting into heaven is pretty damn difficult anyway as far as I can tell so dodging an eternity of fire and torment seems like a legitimate upside of just having the damn thing

I"d kieep it but not use it. Then lock it in a safe on my death and throw int the deepest portion of the ocean in the world.

I probably wouldn't use it. If you're going to terminate someone, you have to involve yourself; simply killing them with a scrap of paper is so unfulfilling compared to say... a sniper rifle.

I'd do one of two actions. 1. Burn it and move on with life. Humanity does not need more suffering. Or 2. Gain Presidency and kill all enemies, osama, and corrupt world leaders.

Since the Death God confirmed the existence of a Heaven and a Hell, and that use of said death note means an automatic denial into both, I wouldn't use it. I would most likely burn it, evil little thing.

There's really nobody I hate enough to want to kill, so I wouldn't use it for my personal needs ... Well I think either (1) I'd burn it and never think about it again or (2) I'd sell my services as a mercenary and make some damn money off of it.

I dunno though, the only people who might suspect you of being "Kira" were the people who had seen the anime or read the manga. you could probably get away with it for a while if you were smart about it (or if you didn't use it as frequently as Light did)

But how would they ever catch you?
There is no evidence of your crime, nor can anyone see you.

They'd have no way to even remotely suspect you.

Good point.
No one in real life would make such crazy "deductions" as L had. If they did, they'd be ignored.
