You get to greenlight a sequel to any game that has ever existed. Which game do you choose?

My first instinct would be Borderlands, but... Damn. My head went from Killing Floor 2 to Megaman Battle Network 7, but I still can't pick anything that would equal Borderlands 2 in terms of worth. So, I'd have to go with Borderlands 3. Borderlands 2 exists, so a sequel can be made from it given the rules straight off the title.

EDIT: Damn, can't believe I didn't think of Republic Commando 2. But, given the books, it would be Imperial Commando instead.

I pick Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. I've never played it, but I've only heard shitty things about it. Now you may ask why I choose it then? I just want to see Yahtzee break it in half for another funny review.

System Shock 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3(make it like part 2, but with a storyline like part 1), a Bioshock prequel(Rapture, not Columbia) maybe?, a new Star Wars Battlefront, a War for Cybertron type game with the Maximals and Predacons, maybe an Awakening for DA2, and depending on how part 3 ends up, maybe a Mass Effect MMO

Republic Commando, either as one of the book adaptations, before RC 1, or after in the Imperial days with the new team replacements.

--- Some of these ideas I've read are abominations to me, but that's my opinion.

As for System Shock, it had its sequel with BioShock.

Persona 5 The seeries has such great well paced stories and the characters are always well developed.
Oh do I have good news for you. ;D They're working on it.
You know the game Catherine.
That game was really just an experiment to test how far they could push, and what they could do with the new engine they're going to use for Persona 5.
SWEET! That is great news.

I don't know whether that'd be wise or not. It might work if it is a new character or something, but who would be the enemies unless it was a prequel? Geth maybe, unless they get destroyed/ surrender in 3.
Yeah I was thinking a new main character. It would be pretty cool if they went all DA:eek:rgins and let you customize your character into any species you want; asari, turian, human, krogan, etc.

Also there's plenty of available enemies; Mercenary groups, escaped convicts (aren't there thousands upon thousands trapped on purgatory just waiting to escape), Foreign Alien armies/governments that operate outside of the Citadel, robots, geth, terrorists (ala, Bring Down The Sky DLC), etc.

Or it could be a prequel set in The First Contact War.

REPUBLIC COMMANDO.

2!!!!!

I fucking love delta!
I would SOOO love that for one small caveat:

George Lucas

I know that if I can't control the developer, then he will get his mitts on it and sodomise it into some lowest common denominator shit.

Why can't George Lucas just retire already, has has buttfucked into the ground two classic series from the 80's.

In fact some of the best parts of the prequel rilogy were the parts he had the least to do with:

Tartakovsky's Clone Wars.
To spite being such short episodes DAYME WHERE THEY GOOD! A single 15 minute episode had more win in it that the entire 3 prequel movies. They had kinetic force to the combat, appropriate building of tension and conflict and got to the fucking point. It jsut nailed everything perfectly.

And how did Lucas react to this? With jealous and petty rage, he fired Tartakovsky denying him the creative opportunity to make a further series , refused to support timely and proper DVD releases of the series and then retconned the entire Clone Wars animation of of canon with his own personal pet project for clone wars...

It was Shiiiiiiiit. And had an even shittier shovel-ware game to go with it.

Republic Commando
Goes without saying, one of the finest shooters set in the Star Wars universe and certainly best of the last gen as it was able to do it's own thing within the Star Wars universe and do it well.

Jedi Knight Series
Right in the middle of Lucas' bonfire-of-cinema known as the Prequel-trilogies this games series was allowed to go on set in the expanded universe without Lucas meddling it remained so true to the ethos that he started and many others added to... that he then sought to destroy. What do we have now? Jedi Knight is canned permanently and we have Force Unleashed instead *BARRFFF*

KOTOR / Old Republic
SUPER PREQUEL! Set 100's of year before! THIS is how you do a prequel, set it LONG before so that you don't shit where you eat. TOR developers have said they are very grateful for all the freedom without a certain beardy hack coming in and saying yay or nay. They fought so hard to be able to make this game, I imagine if Lucas hadn't been so lazy he'd have canned it and tried to do it himself in his own tack new commercial way.

Star Wars: Battlefront
So good. And battlefront 3 was all but finished then the Big Man canned it.
FFFFFFUUUUUUU-

It's like Lucas is some Andrew Ryan, he creates this wonderful world then goes crazy with power starts crushing everything.

Star Wars games used to be the exception to the rule that movie licensed games were shit, in fact Star Wars games were remarkably consistently good. But it seems the corrosive influence of the sold-out Lucas is ever pervasive.

That's why I don't really want any more Star Wars games UNLESS I can guarantee that Lucas will keep his hands OFF it!

Wait, where did you find this out? If you can send me a link, that'd be much appreciated as I'm a HUGE fan of Persona 3 and 4. :D

I can't find the quote for that Catherine was a test. I think it was said in an interview with the Catherine devs during E3.
But here's confirmation for P5.

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010/03/24/persona-5-confirmed-and-going-into-production/

So they've been working on it for a while probably.
Hopefully it will be as long as Persona 3 and 4. It's sad how modern games have gone from 30+ hours to 8 hours if you're lucky.

So it'd be a bit like DA:O IN SPACE! I'd be down with that. Lol Elcor character. You could even make a Blasto sort of character.

You guys need to read the 5 books... or at the least the one Republic Commando book that has to do with that scenario.

I would pay $100 for a Star Wars: Republic Commando 2 just to find out if Sev is alive or not, who may or may not have replaced him and how they struggled with the transition from Republic to Empire as Darth Vader came to power, and regret it afterwards as I look in my wallet.
