Damn...I'm torn between the fun thing and the sensible thing. The fun thing would be to open up my own game studio and release games on XBLA, PSN, Steam, etc. Or at least try to. If I fail and end up poor it would have at least been a fun way to go.

The sensible way would be to buy a house somewhere, go to a trade school and get a life going. This is also the category in which I toss a ton of money at Amazon so as to rebuild my SNES collection and start up a Sega one.

It depends on circumstance, mostly. The energy contained in lightning can be quite lethal, but it has to disrupt your heart to actually kill you. If the current does not pass through your heart, you're likely to survive.

Generally, being struck by lightning will cause nerve damage and severe burns in the (relatively small) area of your body that was struck, and more nerve damage along the route the current follows. It's a comparable to having a stroke, or so I've been told, in terms of loss of feeling and motor control.

If you're really lucky, the damage will mostly heal over the course of a few years. Most people suffer permanent damage though.
