You have died

Ok, you haven't actually died but what if everyone thought you had died from a tragic yet heroic event consisting of saving numerous innocent people. The outcome is that you narrowly escaped death and have suffered amnesia due to blunt trauma to your head. Everyone believes you have died saving countless people and have only regained your memory after your funeral is long done and most people have come to terms with your death.

What would you do?

I might consider taking the opportunity to start a new life far away. A heroic end to my past life is all I could ask for. I wouldn't really want to return to my past life after everything has happened. I wouldn't want to stir any hurt emotions, and I'm not particularly attached to my current life anyways.

Yeah, that's what I'd do. If it's something I know people are going to remember for forever, I'll let it go. But on the other hand... if it's something that might one day be forgotten, I might make more of an impact showing I survived. Imagine. The long-lost hero finally reappearing. I'd be remembered even longer!

Yeah, for me, it's all about my legacy.

People have moved on and I don't want to damage the image of my death. A heroic death that saves countless people will inspire people to sacrifice themselves for the greater good, I don't want to damage that. I would move to a remote place and lead a life of meditation and reflection, hell I earned the life of R&R.

Maybe wander around with a few trustworthy people knowing who I am doing good and what not, may as well create a second legend while I can.

Starting a new life by ending the lives of others... Sort of ironic, especially after you've just saved a bunch of innocent people. I guess you just have to go back and make sure they die right?

I'm not sure about the image, but the Count of Monte Cristo is a great story/ movie.

But actually, I'd want to return to my previous life, but I might have already started a new life with the amnesia, so it would be hard to leave a life that was already set up and moving. I'd need time to think about it.
