Well, I live in Canada, so there's really one option.

France.

(Yes, I'm serious.)
Remembered that little island they have near us eh?
Don't even need the island, we've got a spit of land IN France. Vimmy Memorial in France is technically Canadian soil. So Canada borders France in two places on near opposite sides of the earth. France is my personal choice for exil, mostly because I am close to fluent in the language.

I'm Canadian so my only option is the States, unless I can choose Greenland, cuz it's like right there.

USA here.

Obviously Canada.

Where in Canada?

Uh... probably Vancouver, because that's where the DHX branch that make MLP is located.

Yup, that's my reason, and it's a grand one.

US citizen and I would go with Mexico. Better food, better weather and the violence is avoidable if you live in a nice area.

North Korea, Japan or China. Do I really have to leave? If I had to choose, I'll probably choose China. Sure it may have the highest cadmium content in the local water supply, but I can get around.

Fuck off. One of my favourite things about being from an island nation is that we don't have to put up with having borders to other countries.

Y'know, except Ireland, and they're British anyway (whether they want to admit it or not).

In answer to your question, however:

Norway.

France is shit, and full of French people,
Fantastic Beer aside, Belgium is the most boring country on earth.
I wouldn't mind the Netherlands I suppose...
Ireland is... Well, Ireland.
Iceland would be nice I suppose, but if I'm going Scandanavian (and I am), then it's got to be Norway.

Scotland. The weather may be utterly abysmal but I think I could get them to stop eating fried chocolate bars and be hailed a hero. And its better than Wales.
The weathers not that bad really. And the only time I have eaten deep fried chocolate was when I found my Canadian flat mate cooking some. Because he could find anywhere that sold it. In Glasgow!

I'll actually be moving to another country next month. The south of England. I'm scared.

EAAASY.
I normally live in Slovakia (although I now study in the UK), which is in central Europe. Right next to Austria. Also known as the best place to live ever.

I could always move to our friendly neighbor to the south, Canada. However if I offend someone I could go to jail.

I could always go to Mexico, pay bribes to continue to live there, then run out of money where they extort money out of my family, meanwhile, I am in jail.

I'm fairly certain that the US has territory that shares a border with Japan, however more certain is that Taiwan is under the jurisdiction of a Federal Court. So I could move there.
Of course the US has a border with japan it's right down there in the south close to the canadian border, if you reach the canadian gulf you have gone to far east and might land at the greenland/narnia border ;P

PS: Just to be safe (this beeing the interwebs and all) it was meant as a JOKE because of the "canada to the south" typo, and i ignored the tiny island territorys the US has and might aswell border japan.

Ireland because why would I want to move to England?
Yes Ireland had financial meltdown but it's preferable to England and David Camoron.

(Gathering by the post by British people that England hates Wales and everyone else hates England :p)

Nice xenophobia

I'd rather go and live back in France than stay here. "France is shit"? Really? One of the most ignorant things I've ever read on this site

EDIT: Fine, let's keep this interesting for the rest of you fellow Americans. WHERE in Canada would you move?
[/quote]

You think many of the 300 million Americans would chose Mexico over Canada? I mean as nice as Mexico is, it's a different language and they just so happened to be embroiled in an extremely bloody Narco-War.

And so many of the English Language Speakers on this forum from UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand DON'T BORDER AND OTHER COUNTRIES!!! They border the sea and international waters.

Sigh...

My post was clearly tongue in cheek.

At least, I thought it was. Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough? Or perhaps you just didn't get it... I don't know you and can't judge your level of intelligence or how you and your social group deals with comments not seriously intended, whereas I am quite familiar with my own level of intelligence, and of course how me and my social group deals with comments not seriously intended.

I'll just chalk this one up to text being an inadequate form of communication. In future please try not to accuse me of being a xenophobe, or ignorant. If I were either, you are in no position to declare me as such from behind your keyboard, having literally never met me.

According to you this comment was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, and that's fine. I love humorous posts.
But you've gotta be more careful how you word things. The sarcasm might have seemed obvious in your own head, but that kind of humor doesn't translate too well over text. It doesn't help that the first thing I read was 'fuck off'.

Be more careful in the future.

Umm, no I don't think most Americans would choose Mexico over Canada (although a few have anyway), but I didn't really make this thread solely for Americans. But to make sure their replies wouldn't seem frivolous, I asked them where they would move if they chose Canada. Seems pretty fair.

And to your second point, did you even read the OP? We're considering nations most directly bridged by the sea as 'bordering' for the sake of discussion, and it's worked pretty well so far (12 pages of replies.)

Your points were?

Well, I'm Spanish, so I've got a choice of Portugal, Andorra and France. Portugal's not in the best condition economically, currently (Not that Spain is), I don't understand French (I can roughly get an idea of what a Portuguese person's saying, and I think, but don't quote me on this one, most people in Andorra speak Spanish), and Andorra's in a beautiful location and from what I hear has decent job opportunities. So I guess Andorra it is.

Well, I live in Ireland, but I used to live in Spain, so if that counts as one of the three I'm allowed, I'd definitely take Spain again, as I loved living there before. If it doesn't count, then I would take England, I wouldn't mind living there at all, would be similar enough to here...
