I'm stoked to see how many Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 entries are in this thread. I know 2 used to get all the love, but I thought 3 was a much more polished up game. Plus, it had a bigger console to work with.
This is true, but can older gamers appreciate new games too or is it always nostalgia that takes priority? I've seen some antiquated top 20 lists out there (not so many here, seems more balanced).noreshadow said:Its funny, you can tell how old somebody is by there list.
It makes me sad that so few of the younger generation have played anything besides modern games.
Its kinda the same as being a movie buff, and never seeing anything made before 2003....
I understand It can be hard, since there was no bloom effect, bumpmaping, or havoc physics.
so if you don't own a pair of nostalgia goggles, Its hard too get into them.
the only way to really appreciate old games is to dedicate some time to just playing ps1 era games for like a month.
Only then can you see things in context.
But its worth it.
And at the very least ,when you get back ,you'll have a deeper appreciation for all the technology and work that went into rendering the MWCODBO2 Newbs head that you just Pw0ned as you t-bag it.
