Maverick Black came in two parts I thought Maverick (inspired by the Movie Maverick with Mel Gibson not Top Gun) was a cool name which sort of described me. Since Maverick is such a common alias I needed something to make mine different so I decided to make Black(inspired by Black Books) the last name.

I always liked the idea of resistance, rebelling against something really. So i chose Resistance.

The 205 bit is a long story, when i was a child i was obsessed with the word Legend, and thinking i was one. So, when i was making a bebo account, i tried putting in legend, and it didn't work, then legend 1, legend 2 etc etc. Untill i finally gave up and just put in 205.

Since then it has stuck with me.

My alias, SharPhoe, is just short for my regular alias, SharinganPhoenix. And that alias came from when I made an account on a forum site about 3 years ago, when Naruto had just become the big thing in my high school, and the phoenix has always been - and always will be - my favorite mythical creature. I don't watch/read Naruto anymore, but I like the name too much to change it, plus I don't want to confuse the people who still call me Shari or SP.

My gamer tag, orifice, has two origins. Firstly in computer games I would utilise 'boggy tactics'. (those of you that have read Bored of the rings by the harvard lampoon will understand!) And this would result in people shouting impolite things at me, usually calling me a bodily orifice of one kind or another!
Secondly, as a younger person I was one of those people that could eat an unholy amount of food despite not putting on weight, this is the second origin of My tag.

Mine comes from Clerks 2 when Dante informs Randall the difference between Hellen Keller and Anne Frank. Way funny in the movie, however I decided to go with kellen heller. Not that I'm deaf, blind and dumb mind you, although I have done some dumb shit before that would lead one to believe that I was...

I like the thought of having to wear a straitjacket as a career choice instead of something I have to do because the men in the white suits tell me too, SO I consider the art of wearing a Straitjacket for a living Straitjacketeering.

I chose "Magical" because:

One night i stayed over in my girlfiends house. The next morning she told me that i had Magical Hands...

And i chose Hans because:
I needed a link to my Germaness...

Anywho, some time later i was deciding on names for a XBL and Magical Hans came to mind, and thus Magical Hans was born....

I was in a ska band where we all used pseudonyms for a while. Mine was Ace O'Something. Which I started using on IM and things like that. Even after we changed the band's name i continued using the name and variations thereof.

Oddly enough in most video games I used HammerNAvil or something like that because my First name is Thor, middle initial is N and my last name is Anglicization or the Norwegian word for 'Anvil'.

Many years ago we had a music style in Holland called Terror Core which was popular with the people I hung out with. So one day a friend of mine in a moment of inspiration he realizes that my last name is only 2 letters removed form Terror and he presto a nickname is born. Later I start using it online but Terror was already in use so I had to add something and my age or year of birth seemed so stupid and changeable. Then I thought 666 the number of the beast would be cool. That is how Terror_666 was born.

Unfortunately, the name I wanted to take was gone. If not I would have been called Agamemnon. I use that name as nickname sometimes in game. It came from a book I read and the character was an evil sort off cyborg general. It's also the name of a commander in chief in the trojan wars.

Instead, I adopted my Unreal Tournament 2004 clan name SHARP [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinheads_Against_Racial_Prejudice]. Sometimes it's funny to say you're a skinhead, and everybody starts flaming while they have no idea what a true skinhead is. Not that I'm a real skinhead though, I'm dressed in a way that's generally accepted as 'normal', and I've got hair!

Maexxna - a boss in Naxx (World of warcraft reference)
Nyxas - "Nyx" being the greek god of darkness... "as" being added for effect.
Covenent666 - randomly flicking through the halo manual and adding 666 on the end.

My old one is Varon and my new one is Aegis ("Holy Aegis" where "Aegis" is taken)

"Varon" came from me starting with an obscure letter and trying to come up with a cool name out of it. Seriously, that's it.

I tried "Phoenix" for a while (bird of flame, burns itself to ash and rises anew from it's own ashes blah blah blah) but it's too popular and mainstream to use anymore (link here [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(mythology)])

I found "Aegis" just because I remembered the Aegis Cruisers from Red Alert 2 and looked them up one day. It turns out Aegis is an Protection; Guidance; direction; Control; sponsorship; patronage: Under someone's aegis [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegis_combat_system]" Considering I love to teach people new things, guide them, and come to their rescue (and show off my skill a little, I admit) I think the name fits. Now if I could only get someone to pronounce it right! (pronounced "ages")

"Cid" came from Final Fantasy A+, a Flash movie on Newgrounds and I was known as "White Mage Cid" for some time.
"SilverWing" grew on me after having seen it used in World of Warcraft (there's a PvP faction named "The Silverwing Sentinels" and a cartoon show based on the novel series by the same name about Silverwing bats). Me, I adopted it under angelic terms, as I lend a wing for my comrades. (And no, I'm an atheist)

Mine initially was just "The Soviet" due to most of my heritage being from Russia and former Soviet bloc countries. Only upon the release of the GTA4 Soundtrack did my friend see the title of the opening theme and decided thats what I should be called from that point on.

My brother (whose name you can probably guess) once made me an e-mail address cause I was to stupid to make one myself. He didn't know what to call it so he just called it brotherofwill@... A lot of people thought it was funny cause they knew him, and I just stuck with it.

It's also pretty funny if we go to galleries or events and sign into guestbooks which usually ends up being his name over my name and both of our email addresses from which you can see that we are siblings.

Jesterz said:
Well my alias is Jester. I adopted this name after i did a history project on them. As i did more and more research on Jesters, i began to appreciated them more and more. Ye olde jesters were the ones to stand up the kings, they were intelligent as they had to be to avoid a removal of their head. Also the stereotype of a jester, annoying to some and funny to most, a performer, It just seemed to fit. Since then it been my alias and im very proud of it.

So how did you get your alias?
Mine's just two random words put together.

My Gamertag Tiger Zaishi comes from the name I used when making a player for Jade Empire.

On the subject of jesters...

This was a story I remember from an old 'Ripley's believe it or not' book

A jester once insulted the King's mistress at a dinner party once. Furious, the King sentenced the jester to death. Since the jester was so popular around the court, the King offered him one favour. He asked the jester "how would you like to die". The jester replies..."Of old age". Needless to say, the King kept to his word and the jester was spared.

Jester's rule...
