Opinion. The story is utter shit and laughable (So there's vaults on other planets, wow, what a twist)
Same could be said about a lot of other first person, undefined main character. Doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.The characters are mostly one dimensional
I've always thought Borderlands was quite upfront with how the looting system works. Again, whether you like it or not, is opinion. The loot system literally tricks players into liking it
Opinion. The game uses meme's and pop culture references for its humor (utterly unforgivable in my eyes)
Lots of games "steal" from other games. Again, doesn't make them bad. Whether they're bad or not is, an opinion. And worst of all, and I mean worst of all, gearbox steals shit and NO ONE CALLS THEM OUT ON IT
See above. They stole their artstyle, their cover, and their FUCKING GAME OPENING
Different strokes for different folks. There are lots, LOTS of much, MUCH worse games out there. But it won't because apparently I'm the only one who cares about any of this, and shitty humor and laughable story is totally acceptable nowadays (especially since gameplay doesn't make up for it)
OT: Hating a game is a waste of time. If you don't like it, don't play it. Vote with your wallet. I'd rather focus my energy on games that I actually like instead of wasting it on what, in your opinion, is a bad game. I really don't understand this need to actually hate a game. It's very weird to me.
This. So much. It's sad too, because I love Final Fantasy in general, but Final Fantasy XIII just dropped the bar in every way. The combat is annoying and finnicky, the story makes no sense, the music is decent at best, and boring at worst, the characters are a bunch of anime stereotypes and the pacing completely sucks. It's just... bad. Very. Bad.shrekfan246 said:Final Fantasy XIII.
Just... Final Fantasy XIII.
I've made so many posts about it already.
In fact, just a few days ago I went through all of the posts, took three of them and then put them all together into a response to a thread about Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels.
So yeah. That's my pick.
Doesn't work. For someone to hate a game, they will have had to play that game, which means they'll have already purchased said game. Can't refuse to buy something you already have.Sp3ratus said:OT: Hating a game is a waste of time. If you don't like it, don't play it. Vote with your wallet. Oh yeah, Final Fantasy IX is pretty much my favorite game of all time. Just makes it all the more disheartening that all of the things XIII does that are like earlier games in the franchise, it does so much worse than previous games in the franchise.theemporer said:This. And calling someone out for arguing with opinion in an opinion-based thread isn't a waste of time? And besides, sometimes you spend the money on what you think is a good game only to find out it was bad. Doesn't that validate the feeling of hate? Or you could just hate what a game represents, which i think was Yahtzee's reasoning for hating CoD: MW3 and BF3.Sp3ratus said:I'd rather say you've had fans admitting they have no idea what objective means.Saviordd1 said:I mean, I've had fans ADMIT it's objectively bad!

Really? I never knew you could take double damage without your hat. I always thought it was cosmetic. :/I hate the cheap shit they don't tell you about until after it happens, namely the Buzzard stealing my hat which results in me taking double damage until I manage to hit the bird somehow and yank it back,
I feel for you the same thing happened to me nothing worse than finally clearing a difficult section and then having the game freeze on you. The game was hard enough in parts but battling the game and Xbox was too much I changed mine eventually before finishing it, at least the game gets significantly easier after the first Alma battle though.Void Bringer said:Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox.
After many an hour against a difficult boss and losing time and time again, I finally was winning against it perfectly not getting hit and dishing tons of damage. Then suddenly my xbox 360 turns off and flashes red.
Yes the game would not allow me to beat it and blitzed my 360 before I could beat it. Luckily it was under warranty still however I have not played a Ninja Gaiden game to this day.
Egoraptor was right about Gaiden.

It was the other way around for me. The nerfing of Shadow's character growth from Adventure 2 aggrivates me in retrospect, but the new team-based gameplay mechanics was what made me dislike Heros as a kid. Add that onto the fact that the ring-collecting minigame had come back in the form of balloon-popping madness, and it was the perfect recipie for disaster for me.scorptatious said:I was a huge fan of the Sonic Adventure series. He was already a fan, so he was going to get it sooner or later with or with out your help. Don't let it get to you.The sad thing is, that kid I mentioned probably went and bought the game because of me. And I probably crushed his childhood and his innocence.![]()
