A table for one at a middle class resturant, preferably in a secluded booth so no one can laugh at my tears.

End of the semester typing escapist post up on a computer lab while i should be working on a project describes the last few night and if I'm not doing that i was either playing Starcraft 2 beta, Haven and hearth with my roommates, or talking to my girl friend on skype(were in different states : ( ) instead of working on my project. that most likely covers the last 3 weeks of nights. After school is over it will be filled with nights of her and watching movies or playing video games with my friends and girlfriend.

I go out? Damn it me, quit sleep walking! >:0

Occasionally, I'll hang out with some friends, but my brother's friends are over ALL THE TIME. I'll go downstairs and play video games with them.

Normally its something like start the evening off in one of the pubs that we like. Depending on which one we might end up playing pool. Then afterwards we head to one of the shitty ass night clubs I really don't like but thankfully we go to one with seats so we can sit and still talk if we hate dancing. Then afterwards we go and buy some booze from a store and go to the local park, get pissed and walk/stumble back home after mucking about.

As you say, pubs are infinitly preferable. Less obnoxious music, less drugged up goons, and talking is actually possible.

Charlie Brooker has a pretty hilarious article on clubs which you may enjoy :D

Thanks for the link, that was an enjoyable read :D
Glad you liked it, Charlie Brooker never fails to make me chuckle :)

Almost definitely. I'd say it's pretty much impossible to be a recluse because there are people everywhere. Just start off on good terms with your flatmates (I'm assuming you will be living in halls) and all should be well :)

Likin' the Sam Rockwell avatar btw :)

Aww :(

Well at least you dont wake up in the morning with a splitting headache and no memory of the night before, only to gradually remember or be told what happened and live the next 48 hours in a sort of zombilike state, cringing from embarrassment.

I hardly ever go out anymore. People have lives and/or jobs to consume their souls, so I normally spend my life on video games or random porn web browsery.

Aside from last night 'cause it was my eighteenth party where I got embarrassingly drunk, of course XD

A usual night out for me usually involves pre-going-out drinks at someone's house (usually mine), then off to a pub for cheaper drinks/talking etc. Then it's off to clubs until the early hours; drunken kebab/burgers usually follow. Waiting for a taxi freezing my ass off, then home.

You will make friends at university but take some advise from me. If your a quiet person with some not-so mainstream interests like gaming, heavy metal music, or science fiction say, i strongly recommend you join a society from day 1 at the freshers fair. Most of your flat-mates will have fairly ordinary interests like pop music and football, so if you don't have mainstream interests and want to make some really good friends at university- i strongly recommend societies.

I'm telling you this because i failed to do that. While i do have friends, it means i have to visit annoying night clubs with loud crap music. This is while missing conversations about video games, heavy metal, and making internet-related jokes with my 6th form friends...

If your interests are fairly normal and standard- you like drinking, sport, and indie rock music say, then you won't have a problem at all.

Average night out consists of going to the pub, drinking untill 4 am, go home.

Trying to mix it up a bit recently seeing as I can't drink so much now I'm driving so I'm stuck with cokes or lemonade, so cinema, bowling, pub quizes etc. One thing we never do is go round each others houses.

Wow, I'm surprised you can hear us all from up there on your high horse.

Still sounds like a good night, just dont assume I'm perpetually wasted, or a loner for that matter :p
It's just tiring to see so many of these people, and my own friends, remain either these cloistered basement dwellers who don't get out and see bands or meet new people, or these douchey shits who go out, get as drunk/stoned/wasted as possible and lose the whole night in a blur. There's so much out there to experience, and my biggest regret in life was that I remained a cloistered nerd in my room for so many years that I could have spent seeing live bands, meeting new people and experiencing so much more than I could have experienced playing Baldur's Gate and listening to Dreamtheatre all night.

ah, now that's understandable. I do admit, I enjoy going out and getting wasted, but that doesn't mean I have to ignore things like going to see bands, going on holiday, and going on outings and things with my friends. It is possible to strike a balance :)
