We've all done it at one point. Wether its to aviod an exam or running from drunken morons or angry taxi drivers, we've all had to get away from somthing.
Whats yours best Escape story? We are all Escapist's, so we may as well live upto our name :0

Mine personal best was where I was being persued by a group of chav s on bikes a year or two older than me, simply for the reason I looked an easy target. I ran into a series of fairly narrow alley ways to try and aviod them, and the netx thing I hear is an almighty crash and mingled curse words.

It turns out in their sheer stupidity they had tried to take a 90 degree corner at full speed and gone crashing though a wooden fence, one after the other. The dog in the garden was not pleased, and luckily for them it was a very angry German shepard. They were on their knees almost crying as they begged the owner to tell it too back off. He wasnt quick about it either.

my best ever escape was when i went to a gig that got seriously out of hand, there where about 200 people outside who couldnt get in and were all drunk including myself. one thing led to another and big fight started with windows being broken and people on the roofs. obviously the police got called and turned up in force. I ended up running for it with a couple of mates. ran full pelt across a field with police on our heels, scaled a 10ft wire fence, across a motorway and into an estate, down alleys and through gardens with sirens, helicopters, the works, ran for about 10 miles before we manged to lose them and managed to get a bus back to near where we lived. turns out loads of other people got arrested that night though. Was a massive rush, though am happy that i havnt repeated it recently.

Dodged a fireball. Not really, I was in the other room. I did see the fireball though... I was scared half to death. Then again I was only like 8 then...

I was involved in a motorbike crash that fractured my skull. It turned out that a drunk driver pulled out in front of me and i crashed into him. I smacked my head on the road and the next thing i know, im in a hospital bed surrounded by my family.

I've had to escape my own room twice now. The handle is broken so it can only be opened on the outside.

One times there was a fly in my room that I desperately wanted to kill. So I snuck to the door and WAM! Ha! I got you now little fly! So here I am jumping on the bed trying to kill the bugger. I smacked him and it was done. But all this killing made me thirsty so I go to the door and...oh dear... I had to open the window, push out the fly screen (lol) and jump out. It was one of the best days of my life.

Iv'e never had an escape moment, but i had a close call.

These two lads thought it would be fun to start a fight with me whilst i was loitering around the town center late at night, and one tried to engage me in conversation while the other moved behind me and tried to push me into the one in front.
He tries to start something, until suddenly they notice a police car around the corner, yell "shit, po-lice, po-lice" and bugger off.

Whilst i stood there laughing, as it was a stationary ambulance that is constantly parked there, day in, day out, that they mistook for a police car.

Taken a drunk "shortcut" home through some gardens and climbed under a fence and got stuck. Dude looks out his window sees me stuck under his fence, and my friends trying to push me through from the other side totally not believing some guy was staring at me and coming outside.

His door opens they go "oh shit!" and we all start giggling like school girls, they pull me out by the time hes about midway through his garden and we run away laughing.

Not much of an escape, but well funny at the time.

Used to climb out of my window/sneak out of my house when I was grounded all the time. Thought as a kid was if I'm grounded and go out, they are only gonna be able to ground me again, so not much lost. If they take my things away aswell I'd just sneak out again.

Ran away from police afew times for underage drinking, but since I've grown up not had to run away much anymore. Police come over now and we're abit too old to run, well just sit and see if were actually worth charging with anything, mostly just get told to move along.

My personal great escape happened when I was about 13. Me and my mate Dan were walking around exploring the woods that surround our village, when we found a bunch of older kids in the middle of a wood. (If I remember correctly there was Rob, Mike, and some other dude) So for fun I shouted at them calling them all. 'Astronomical faggots' In retrospect I honestly have no idea why I thought that that would turn out anyway but badly.

Anyway, after that magnificent parathion shot me and Dan started running back towards our village, when we were almost at the end of the field which boarded said town we saw two of them project them selves out, at this point it's worth mentioning they were sixteen and could run extraordinarily fast.

With the hunt on me and Dan started running for our lives through the village park towards the gate and from there my house. No words were spoken but if we had had the time to even glance at one another we would of both know the how the human face truly conveys the feeling of terror. I had a moment to look behind me and I saw them entering the park. To put in perspective just how fast they were, it was about 450 yards from the park to the wood we'd seen them in, it had taken us about 2 minuets or so to run that distance. They had done it in a few seconds.

I was five feet from the climbing over the fence that separates the park from the road when I could here the sound of feet behind me, and in that moment I knew I had to do something. So I jumped with all the force my weary legs could muster and landed on the tarmac a few feet from the fence, almost injury free, and rolled over to look back. My poor friend had been a second to slow and they had grabbed him, but were already climbing over the fence. Luckily my house is only across the road from the park and they took more time than me going over the fence so I was able to get inside, but with mere seconds to spare. Dan was not so lucky but joined me shortly afterwards a bit ruffed up.

Man that was awesome.

I rearended a semi doing 160kmph on the highway on a friends GSX-R 750 Suzuki. After smashing my helmeted face into the step up bar and breaking my visor the bike got wedged underneath. It dislodged and i smacked my now unprotected face into the plexiglass sheild. I then managed to get the bike over to the side of the road and fall off for it to fall on me. Then dangerous part about is when i escaped my friends wrath for the damage of his bike. BTW the semi never noticed i hit him. Plus i only had a few facial cuts(nasty ones) and a twisted wrist.

I'm getting a motorbike soon and am dread the inevitable enocuters with lorries far too big for the twisty country roads in my area. Just the slipstream from one was almost enough to blow me off the road while on my Moped.

When i went from a 50cc ped to a 125cc aprillia RS125 (beast of a bike) i found wind resistance just halved. Scooters are awful for wind.

I was riding a aprillia Sr 50 replica, which is a fairly large, heavy and stable bike, but I see where you coming from. Hopefully I will get my Yamaha YBR 125 before summers out, hopefully.

I convinced my boss and my family I had an important presentation for my studies in Quebec City. However, I went to the VANS Warped Tour in Montreal instead. (It's a punk music festival).

I can imagine most SR50's are good bikes. But mine is wrent with flaws. Its spend about 5 months not working thought the year, and now It's not worth the money to have it fixed. Its got 37000 miles on the clock, its 10 years old and has a Ditech fuel injection system, which no bike dealer in my city will touch due to the difficulty of getting parts, and we have about 5 dealers.
That said it was a blast when it work, but I cant wait to be shot of it.
