Your class bias

Recently I beat DA2 as a rogue, the game was a manageable challenge and I had fun so I decided to start a game as a warrior, and got destroyed before making it through the opening act, multiple times. I can handle playing a mage but I just could not seem to play properly as the tank of the group. Looking back on my gaming history I realized I have been playing the sneaky class that goes around problems rather than through them for as long as I can remember. I was an infiltrator in Mass Effect, maxed out sneak and speech in Fallout, even in the Fps games I prefer anything with a silencer. So I'm wondering if anyone else has this kind of bias or it's just me?

I can play all classes due to D&D and D&D type games but I'm usually biased towards magic users and sneaky types. Usually combined.

I played Baldur with a Thief/Mage/Fighter which I consider a pretty bad build due to the fact that you can't master either but by the end of the game, I could easily kill enemies and stay alive. In ME I played a Vanguard, in DA:O I played a sword weilding mage and in DA2 I played a very pissed off mage for the fact that I couldn't weild a sword. In both KotOR games I was a Sentinel.

In Fallout I had maxed Speech, Guns and Sneak. I read a quote once that in a party you have the Lancer, Tank, Skill Monkey, Healer and you. You're Batman. You have to be good at almost everything because you might end up without a party and have to pull your own weight.

I can't play Warriors, not because of difficulty, but because of sheer boredom. Damn hitting things gets old.

I normally go towards the Mage route in games. Tend to get the most type of attack and get a few interesting spells that won't always deal damage but freeze/invisable/whatever, which I feel other clases often don't get. Also prefer a high attack > high defence as I prefer doing damage than taking damage, which also tends to suit the mage route.

I've always ended up playing Rogue style characters, whether in pen and paper rpgs or video games. Heavy on stealth and sneaky killing.

I either go Scout/Vanguard right up close or Spy/sneak/Infiltrator/speech
No. Middle. Ground.

I have always trended towards sneaky magic users. I don't know why....they just fit my style of play more. I enter a room filled with enemies, my first thought is "ok, lets hide in that corner and turn each one of these guys into smouldering piles of ash without the other ones knowing". In this same situation, my tank friend's first thought is "ok, I am going to find the biggest baddy in this room and punch him square in the nose just to see how many enemies I can piss off at once". Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I usually avoid fighters/warriors and go straight to the sneaky bastards and magic users, the former because I enjoy the stealth and the latter for the feeling of power.

This of coure completely bit me in the arse in the final battle of KoTOR 1.

I always play as a mage for multiple reasons. I suck at fighting on the front lines, I like healing and buffing my party members, and it's so much more fun to blow enemies up with fireballs then to just hit them with a sword.

Ninja'd.

OT: What Super Toast writed. I never get into the melee classes or the ranged(Bows)ones. And using magic is way more awesome then swining some piece of metal that cleary shows that you are compensating for something. :D

I don't have a particular favorite, but usually I get bored with stealth classes very easily. I guess I'm just not very good at being subtle. Even when I do play one, my first instinct is always to kick in the door screaming before I go into hiding. I just enjoy stirring up chaos.

I like to play melee types, usually tanks. Guess I like to get up close and personal with my enemies :p

With DA, the bits I've played, I can see why rolling a mage would make things a lot easier. Once had 2 mages in the party and it was a ton easier than just having the one. Methinks the balance issues that were talked about on release are accurate.

I can honestly say that I don't tend to lean toward any class. When I create a character I usually just go with what looks like the most fun in that particular game/ group or with what fits the character concept I think of at the time.

In a game, I tend to gravitate toward a more supportive class. Somebody who keeps teammates alive, or somebody who augments the team.

I'm always a Mage. They're the mosst fun for me to use. Fuck running in like a lumbering ox and just hitting your enemy until they die, Magic is where the real fun is. There's just something I find really satisfying about standing on a hill overlooking the fight and casually hurling balls of searing flame into the middle of things.

There aren't enough tank/healer combos around. I adore running clean into a mob, healing everyone then bolting off killing everything in my path

I usually gravitate toward what ever class is hardest to play. Like necromancers in D2, or rogues in WoW. I find that the harder classes to play usually end up being the most powerful in the end.
