Nope. I'd protect my family, but I'd protect them by taking them to a country that's not at war. Seems much more sensible. I have no love for this country.
I fully agree with you. I mean I wouldn't fight if my country chooses to attack in the name of something they believe in (but I don't). However if we were being invaded I'd be first in line to sign up. Defend my family, my friends and what I've lived for...no question. Though if my country invaded for a set of values (lets say freedom, knocking down a dictator, stopping evil of some sort) I might sign up. But really I'd definitely against invasion.Furburt said:Yes, immediately. As I have said before, I would fight and die for Ireland. Assuming the war wasn't an act of aggression on our part, and we were in danger of being attacked, then yes, certainly.
Frontline combat too, I can't imagine being much good at anything else. I wouldn't want it to have to extend to conscription though.
And were we to lose the conflict, I'd simply take my rifle, scatter to the forests and conduct a war of attrition!
No . I would run to another country to avoid the draft.YouCallMeNighthawk said:Hello fellow escapee's! second thread here, hope you like it
(any grammar problems, just tell me)
I was sitting here watching military history channel and as usual i would daze of thinking about if i was in that war and whether i would survive and it and so on. (does anybody else do that?)
But the real question i propose to you is, If your country was in crisis would you sign up for the army?
I mean as in threat of invasion. Like the nazi's were thinking of invading england. I would definetly sign up! as i would feel a sense of pride in trying to protect my family and friends by fending of the savage beasts!
My first thought as well... but I think, after enough drugs and alcohol, I would consider signing up.Hubilub said:If my country was in crisis I'd probably leave for a safer country.
Or the moon. Anywhere I'm safe, really.
Mine means "Foreign Help"(Gallagher) ironically.Furburt said:Snip
