Nope. I'd protect my family, but I'd protect them by taking them to a country that's not at war. Seems much more sensible. I have no love for this country.

No I would not sign up and if they tried to draft me I would be out of the country in the quickness.

Yes, immediately. As I have said before, I would fight and die for Ireland. Assuming the war wasn't an act of aggression on our part, and we were in danger of being attacked, then yes, certainly.

Frontline combat too, I can't imagine being much good at anything else. I wouldn't want it to have to extend to conscription though.

And were we to lose the conflict, I'd simply take my rifle, scatter to the forests and conduct a war of attrition!
I fully agree with you. I mean I wouldn't fight if my country chooses to attack in the name of something they believe in (but I don't). However if we were being invaded I'd be first in line to sign up. Defend my family, my friends and what I've lived for...no question. Though if my country invaded for a set of values (lets say freedom, knocking down a dictator, stopping evil of some sort) I might sign up. But really I'd definitely against invasion.

Hello fellow escapee's! second thread here, hope you like it :)
(any grammar problems, just tell me)

I was sitting here watching military history channel and as usual i would daze of thinking about if i was in that war and whether i would survive and it and so on. (does anybody else do that?)

But the real question i propose to you is, If your country was in crisis would you sign up for the army?

I mean as in threat of invasion. Like the nazi's were thinking of invading england. I would definetly sign up! as i would feel a sense of pride in trying to protect my family and friends by fending of the savage beasts!
No . I would run to another country to avoid the draft.

I'm not sure but probably not. I mean sure i'd like to help but I can't see myself as an army man, instead I may join the rebellion, in case we lose, cause as we all know, the rebellion always wins!

Hell, no. I'd gather weapons and friends and start using guerrilla tactics against the invaders.

If my country was in crisis I'd probably leave for a safer country.

Or the moon. Anywhere I'm safe, really.
My first thought as well... but I think, after enough drugs and alcohol, I would consider signing up.

You know, we should all take some uninhabitant area, maybe some parts of eastern Russia or something, put all these anarchist who don't grasp the concept of shades of gray there, give them insane amounts of weaponry and instructions. and put Kyouki1980 as their leader. Then put three 12 year old kids on the borders, give them a crash course on how to use a gun, give them each a pistol and with 1 magazine, and maybe give the leader a shrap stick.

Then, we all bet on how many seconds it will take them to counquer every mile of the area.

Depends on the enemy. If say, we're being invaded by a Coalition of Canada (I'm being serious, just listen) Britain, France, etc to stop us from nuking something just because nukes are cool, then no. If North Korea or a country like that (Iran) does, then I might join up. I live on the East coast though, so I might get occupied quickly, in which case I'd start a guerilla war.

Nnno. No one bothers getting into fights with my country, anyway. That's all I'll say on the matter, lest I get myself in trouble.
