I ride/train horses professionally and also teach lessons. But I'm not a big people person and I prefer working with just the horses rather than the people. I have a few clients who are nice and on the ball, but far more who are just nuts or completely self-centered. Still, I can't complain too much because it's a job that lets me be out in the sun rather than stuck behind a desk. I AM returning to college this fall, though, after taking 3 years off as a pro athlete (broke my knee last year, and though it's mostly recovered, I can't keep quite the same hours or schedule right now unless I want to risk greater injury). Ah, the life of a pro-athlete. But again, no complaints. Even when I was unable to ride, I got to work on the ground for one of the US Olympic equestrians in her barn. So really I've been pretty lucky.
