I'm in a long-distance relationship right now, and if not for the fact that we're both still in college in our respective hometowns and I still don't have the money necessary for marriage, I would drive over and propose to her right now. But it's looking like we wont be able to be married for quite a while.

Long distance relationships are torture, for the record. So amazingly worth it, for her, but torturous nonetheless.

My Eleanor is being able to hold down a job or interest for more than 5 months.

Seriously every job I've had I've quit in 5 months or less.

I also dropped out of college after about 5 months...

Does anyone else see a pattern? >.>

If you have seen Gone in 60 Seconds (original or remake) you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't then 'Eleanor' refers to something that you cannot obtain, complete, or something along those lines due to bad luck or outside interference or whatnot. In the movies 'Eleanor' was the nickname of a car that the main character just could not successfully steal.

What is your Eleanor?
It could be a movie or game that you haven't finished, a boy/girl you can't seem to date, a team or club that you can't join...

Mine was a PS1 game called Vandal Hearts 2. It took 6 or 7 attempts at the game before I finally beat it because of problems with various memory cards getting lost or corrupted, the disc getting too scratched to play, my first PS2 getting stolen, and my new PS2's refusal to play most PS1 games. It was worth it though, great game.
You completed the game though. So technically it cannot be called your Eleanor.

My Eleanor is my inability to move out of my parents house. I don't have enough money to live on my own and none of my few friends have jobs to get apartments.

The main character successfully stole the car in the original Gone in 60 Seconds and she's still referred to as his Eleanor.

I figure if you strive to get something and you succeed after several attempts over a great period of time, it was your Eleanor. If you fail to achieve it, however, it becomes your unicorn. That's how I see it anyway.

1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe It's an Australia only vehicle. I would then use the internet to get all the parts necessary to make it look just like the one from the film. Although I'd have a functional supercharger. Oh and the film is Mad Max.
