If you could make a band comprised of your favorite musicians, who would the members be, and why? For me it would be:

Vocals: Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave)
Absolutely amazing vocal range and writes meaningful lyrics

Guitar: Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave)
Made new and unique guitar sounds by doing things like hitting the strings with a pencil, or scratching the strings.

Bass: Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Because RHCP has some funky bass grooves!

Drums: Keith Moon (The Who)
Because he was one of the inventors of "Rock Attitude", and because of his extremely unorthodox drumming style.

Bass: Paul
Rhythm: John
Lead: George
Drums: Richard

They could call their band 'The Beatles' and I could fill my music collection with all their CDs.

Mine would have to be a folk metal band so it's going to be larger than a four piece.

Lead Guitar: Jari Maenpea (Ensiferum)
A very good guitarist who knows how to make complex techniques sound musical rather than a show off who just wacks sweeps everywhere to get chicks.

Rhythm Guitar: Terji Skibenæs (TÝR)
Knows how to compose complext melodies to be used for both lead and rhythm guitars. Knows how to not mess up a progressive song.

Vocals: Matt Barlow (Iced Earth)
Very impressive range with power and quality behind any and every octave.

Bass: Patrice Guers (Rhapsody of Fire)
Knows how to compose complex bass lines that differ from the main melodies but still sound important and lift the music.

Drums: Kári Streymoy (TÝR)
A good drummer who doesn't over do anything and knows how to keep track and time of a long and progressive rock/metal song.

Accordian: Juho (Korpiklaani)
Most talented accordian player I've heard from a Folk Metal band

Hurdy-Gurdy: Anna Murphy (Eluveitie)
Um.. The ONLY player in a folk metal band I can think of.

Tin Whistle: Pade (Eluveitie)
Seriouosly insanely good at tin whistle.

Violin: Olli Vänskä (Turisas)
Although I don't really like the band as far as folk metal goes, he is a very consistant and talented player.

Vocals: Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana)
Good on guitar, good lyricist, can play drums. Just an all-rounder.

Guitar: Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave)
Such a distinctive style; there's no one who can make sounds on a guitar quite like him.

Bass: Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Again, he's got such a distinctive style of playing, when most band's bassists get lost in the final mix.

Drums: John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
You only have to listen to the song 'Moby Dick' to see what a great drummer he was...

That doesn't make it even half percent more fantasy'y (yeah).
The band still exists, and the members were alive and in the same band as perfectimo said at one point in history.

Calm the fuck down. He was making a joke about The Beatles, chill out. No one dies because he doesn't want to play the game.

Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar: Matt Heafy (Trivium)
Backing Vocals and Lead Guitar: Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
Bass Guitar: (the late) Cliff Burton (Metallica)
Drums: Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls)

i was interested to see people picked Tom Morello, someone who in my mind is one of the most overrated guitarists, who's guitar solos sound like someone is constantly scraping nails down a chalkboard. Thats just my opinion though, for all you guys who are into the nail thing -- good on ya i guess :p

My fantasy band could tie together well i believe because:
-Matt Heafy and Dave Mustaine are both vocalists, however, Dave is a better guitarist. His great guitar riffing and song composure would tie well with Matt's roaring/clean vocals.
-Cliff Burton's incredible talent on bass and use of distortion/overdrive would make the bass audible and also very contributing (if you can say "very contributing", lol.) to the songs.
-Joey Jordison's drumming skill is phenomenal and a flop. Its phenomenal because of how fast he is able to achieve double kick. However, it seems double kick is all he can do. This on the other hand also works well with thrash/heavy metal, and that is the type of music i see this band playing.

So maybe mine was a bit more in depth than the rest :p oh well, this is like my first or second post on these forums :p

Woah, no shit.

You should calm down, actually.
The fact you used the word "fuck" shows you're pretty pissed off.
Okay, he made a joke, we all laughed, let's move on now.

Friends?

Hell no, you don't earn it that easy. It's an internet forum, I'm at work. I don't care (I don't even like The Beatles that much). If you've seen me around the forums I swear all the time, its not me being angry, I just think it makes me look cool, its just how I punctuate my speech.
