I like watching them (they seem to be the easiest way to kill an afternoon without even having progress in a game to show for it), but I can never really find the really good funny ones--the ones from the guys over at LRR aside, of course.
So, what are you're favorites?

To contribute to my own thread, I love "Mind of Freeman". Who knew Gordon Freeman was a frat boy at heart.

Some of the more popular Let's Play video casters are:

Guy#1
Announces he's never played the game before, spends about three episodes fumbling with the interface and basic concepts of the game, and frequently states he's an idiot. It's great fun watching him constantly miss the point, begin sentences he's unable to complete, and switch focus to completely irrelevant junk to fill the gap. I usually thumbs-down that guy and leave immediately.

Guy#2
Announce he's played Version 1 of the game, and then spends the whole series explaining how in Version 1, you could do this-or-that. Apparently his audience does not contain people who played Version 1. It's a drag listening to him drone on about his memories of a game he's not playing, like listening to someone narrate their vacation videos.

Guy#3
Spends the whole episode talking about his Other let's play videos that you should check out, and his personal life, his cat, the reason he didn't post a video yesterday, why the sound quality sucks and the music is too loud, his new computer....Anything except the game.

Guy#4
The unpaid salesman/fanboy, spends most of his time awash in blissful praise of never-before-seen technological advancements such the high quality graphics of the sky box, how the development team actually went ahead and implemented shininess, the attention to detail of how there's a cow munching on grass in a field, or little guys walking around in a city. Amazing new developments that astonish and bewilder the childlike mind of someone who's actually seen all those features before in many games, and is totally lying about it.

Good Let's Play videocasters are hard to find.

I love all of Yahtzee's. They're shorter and easy to digest and super funny. My mind was blown when I saw he posted LPs on Youtube. Finally I have seen the magic of Fantasy World Dizzy!

I also love DeliciousCinnamon, those dudes are pretty cool, and they're good enough that's it not painful to watch, but not crazy amazing so they can get stuck in funny situations of fail.

Cry Plays: [insert game here] is awesome. The guy's little tweaks, edits, arguments with himself, different moods occasionally (Angry/Tired/Drunk Cry Plays) and even little 2 second speedups when walking down some obnoxiously long corridors all make his LP's sweet as hell.

He made a tedious backtrack in Cry of Fear Episode 15 into a sweet rave party by adding techno music and a super speedup.

He may also be the only LPer that has his own little internet harem based around how sexy his voice is.

Also the Persona 4 Endurance Run on Giantbomb.

*quoting the game*

"Popularity leads to intimacy Jeff!"

"POPULARITY LEADS TO HEPATITIS VINNY!"

Jeff also casts Bufu on things he shouldn't...

And NorthenLion's Dark Souls LP rides the line between the know it all super speedrun asshole and the oh my god this game sucks raaaaaggggggeeeee first timer. Let's face it, Dark Souls is one of the few games you can't really make a successful blind LP of.

He also has awesome character development into a complete asshole in his Invasion episodes.

He gets embittered by the amount of Twinks and surprise butt sex gangbang parties and starts using the Dick Mode taunt after every win.

AccountingNightmare, I wouldn't of been able to beat DMC if it wasn't for her teaching all the tricks as she plays it. Not to mention she's just kickass at it, if you're going to do a let's play be good at the game you're doing. If I wanted to watch someone suck I'd play it myself. I also avoid all the ones that try to be funny because 99% of them are crap.

Ooh ooh. Love these topics.

My biggest recommendations:

1. Pokecapn and co's Sonic 2k6 [http://lparchive.org/Sonic-The-Hedgehog-2006/] and Unleashed [http://lparchive.org/Sonic-Unleashed/]. The Sonic 2006 is a must view even if you don't like let's plays.

2. ChipCheezum and General Ironicus play Killer 7. [http://lparchive.org/Killer7/] It's a game that is better to experience than play, and they simultaneously mock, provide commentary, and respect the game in a way that enhances it.

3. Metroixer's Let's break Pokemon Blue [http://lparchive.org/Pokemon-Blue/]. Best gimmick LP I can remember.

4. Slowbeef's Metroid Let's plays [http://lparchive.org/Super-Metroid/]. His Super Metroid arguably what started the video let's play, but it's definitely what made it popular.

5. Supergreatfriend's Deadly Premonition let's play [http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL845B60D60A411471&feature=plcp]. Probably the most technically skilled, well produced, organized, and informative let's play out there. It's in the same boat as Killer 7. Well worth your time.

I might add more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

The guys over at Achievement Hunter do let's plays every now and then. Almost all of them are really funny, though there are some that fall a bit flat. I heartily recommend the Mari0, Minecraft, and Trials Evolution LPs. The MLB2K12 one is funny as well, and the multiplayer matches (usually Geoff, Jack, Gavin, Michael and sometimes Ray) are great if you don't mind having 4 or 5 people talking.

Here's their latest one in Max Payne 3 Multiplayer:

Oh, also, Tobuscus (Toby Turner) does Let's Plays as well. His Assassin's Creed ones are great, and his Minecraft one is often hilarious. The only one I can't recommend is his Skyrim one. He's still pretty funny in it, but he's kind of terrible at the game and gets sidetracked from whatever he's doing about every 3 seconds. It gets really frustrating to watch.

After seeing the Fantasy world dizzy one his view on video games makes much more sense.

The SomethingAwful Dwarf Fortress ones never fail to be enthralling. In order, I recommend: Boatmurdered, Headshoots, Syrupleaf, Gemclod.

And, quoting from old LP topics:

Insane mods? You'll want The Freelance Astronauts LP Of Oblivion [http://lparchive.org/Oblivion/].
Insane story? Try Chewbot, and The Terrible Secret Of Animal Crossing [http://lparchive.org/Animal-Crossing/].
Just plain insane? Has to be Zorak's Pokemon Quartz [http://lparchive.org/Pokemon-Quartz/].

Also recommended: RedChocobo's Pokemon (any of them), Mr. Swoon's Monster Rancher, SynthOrange's Princess Maker 2, and Yahtzee's Flashback.

I could go on, but that's more than enough to get you addicted to the site... :p

Ahaha this is the first LP mentioned that I have watched. I love Matt and Pat. They're the HYPEST SHIT ON YOUTUBE. I don't know if I spelled "hypest" right... Oh and obligatory AAAAAMERICAAAAA

Just curious have you seen their faces? :D

Personally, I don't watch a whole lot of LPs anymore. The ones that I watch now are mainly LPs by various Yogscast members that aren't Simon and Lewis. Mainly Sips. I love Sips. He's just fantastic. I've also watched a bit of Sjin. He's a pretty decent guy too. :3 The best Minecraft "LP" is the one with Sips and Sjin. They just have this awesome ability to make up crazy stories at they go along and the homoerotic tension thing they have is just hilarious.

I third this, their Downpour Lets Play is great :D

Also you can see Matts face at the end of Matts Bomb ass apartment tour, and you can see Pat in the video where Woolie explains how he gave up a threesome with two hot chicks to go get his copy of Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Their Resident Evil lets play is pretty good as well.

Uh apart from that the only other Lets play ive really watched it MasterOfAudiosurf's LP of Metro 2033

He starts off really boring, but its super fun to watch him slowly improve and absolutely shit himself in the later episodes

If it counts, Two Best Friends Play. Its probably my favourite Youtube channel in general right now.

Watch them "play" Mass Effect 3, Portal 2 or Heavy Rain and you will fall in love with Matt and Patt.

I have two. The first is a downright brilliant let's play of Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, by Scorchy, found here [http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/].

The second is the eviscerating review of Dragon Age 2 by Shadow Isaac, which is found in two parts. The original Something Awful Let's Play, complete with insane comments, can be found here [http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3449674&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=1], and it was continued here[/ur] after the original was locked.

He does them with a friend named Gabriel, and he is cool too. Oh, Yahtzee, suddenly I understand why you are the way you are. He posts a new one about once a couple weeks.

Helloitsdan and lithuaniandad are the true masters, a British man constantly disappointed in his companion and a Lithuanian who really does not care. They're greatest work to date is mercenaries 2, which they make even more ridiculous http://v.lp.prinny.co.uk/mercenaries-2 I cannot describe how very insane it gets very quickly.
