The M1 Garand was semi-automatic so I don't think you would need to reload after every shot. The German gun you're thinking of is presumably the Mauser Karabiner 98k....oh, and don't forget the Lee Enfield rifles.Straying Bullet said:Any 'one-shot' calibre weapon.

It's satisfying to reload after each shot again and again, love those weapons!
The world's first assault rifle was the Federov Avtomat. It feel into a similar pitfall to the StG.44 (which had to pretend to be a machine pistol to enter trails for the Wehrmacht), because most generals at the time didn't recognise the significance of such a rifle, so was only issued as a light machine gun.Skullkid4187 said:The Sturmgewehr 44. The worlds first assault rifle. That would be my favorite.
I get most of the specs from the complete world encyclopedia of Guns.Spirultima said:KAR98k
I know so much about it, but i think someone will probably just google the specs, so screw it, i'll let them do it.
No, that was the overwhelming numbers compaired to the Axis. As far as i'm aware, as far as guns go, they were both impractical and unreliable.Fox242 said:Dead tie between the Tommy Gun

These weapons were a big part of the arsenal of overwhelming firepower that helped the U.S. carry on the fight in two different theaters and come out on top.
