Ohw.... Now I'm going to sound like a child... -_-

but it is properly Pokémon (DON'T HIT ME!)
since that was what I grow up with and the only one where I didn't think "they really want me to buy this?"

but that might just be nostalgia.

Welcome to the NHK. It is the anime that has emotionally effected me the most, as well as being all around awesome.

If I had to pick another, it would be a close contest between Cowboy Bebop, Beck and Darker than Black.

First two Patlabor full length features.

Rozen Maiden is a second favourite (both anime and manga) .... I want to make a Suigintou cosplay ;.;

Other than the usual (Bleach, Naruto, One piece and the likes) I tend to sit with Haibane Renmei being well above average. For a relatively short series, its just so good!

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

I saw bits of it around and net and when i finally found out it what it was called
i immediately took off to a site to go watch it, after getting to episode 15/27,
i turned off the computer, went to bed, woke up and the first thing i did was go
straight to the nearest shop to go order it. i paid for all 6 volumes and vowed to
watch it only on DVD when it arrived and not on the net. Watching the rest of Gurren Lagann
in HD on a massive television is burnt into my mind as the single greatest thing i have done
i still rewatch the series to this day.
Replies from satisfied friends i lent it to:
-Year 8 kid
-Metalhead friends
-Nerdy Friends
-Teacher
There response?
Variations of "GURREN LAGANN IS F*CKING AWESOME!!!

ps. If you have seen Neon Genesis Evangelion it's done by the same guys that made that(Gainax)
and is pretty much the complete opposite to what evangelion had going in every single way

pss. If you do watch this series after reading this then send me an email, i love seeing peoples responses after watching Gurren Lagann

I'm pretty sure it's Hunter X Hunter, 90 episodes with something interesting to offer without getting too silly. It's not perfect by any means, it really gets complex and intense after awhile, does it better than any other anime I've seen so far, however there are a couple of screws loose. Also, it's one of those anime that feels it needs to explain everything in great detail but it does it so well.

Close second would be FMA, followed by either Beserk or Neon Genesis.

Dragon Ball Z. Basically the only one I've seen. It's still awesome. I like what they're doing with Kai as there was a lot of needless filler in the original.

Plenty have been mentioned before, but I'll go ahead and name a few;

Death Note: Aside from it's own flaws (gets convoluted towards the end), it really is a really well done anime with just the right amount of pacing.
Code Geass: Again, it gets pretty convoluted at the end, but it's another really well done anime that I just love to watch.
FullMetal Alchemist: ONCE AGAIN, a bit convoluted at the end (see a pattern?) but not as much as the others, and it's extremely well paced with good action and animation. Some people prefer the manga/Brotherhood, but I prefer the original.
Cowboy Bepop: Not amazing for me, I only watched it on YouTube, but I can see why it's got a lot of love.

Naruto: Before Sasuke left the show, then it was just filler after filler of the same thing...

I need to watch more anime...

Apparently One Piece is good, but after 4Kids bastardization of the show I never watched it as I thought it was just like Naruto in the filler department only stupider and kiddier.

There's a few to chose from but I'll just pick Clannad for being the first that came to mind.

Gurren Lagann! Since it has the most epic scale fights ever and has the most intense, mindblowingly huge mechs and battles.

Also soul eater.

Gantz or Rurouni Kenshin I guess. Gantz is just plain messed up, and Rurouni Kenshin is awesome.
