Simple. What is your favourite type of cheese? It is a simple food, but has been perfected over the millennia into a varied, and delicious foodstuff.

I know there are a lot of Americans on the boards, and the USA has a reputation for being, shall we say, lacking in appreciation for cheese. Is this reputation deserved?

My favourite cheese is Wensleydale, and I prefer to eat it on a cracker with butter, or on a slice of fruit cake if I'm feeling decadent.

So which is your favourite cheese, and how do you like it?

EDIT: In fact I'm getting some cheese on cake right now

EDIT the Second: Someone's eaten all the fruit cake :(

Pepperjack. I'm a dairy manager and the consensus is Pepperjack is the general publics favorite as well. I sell more of that cheese than any other. :)
So I take it you have some professional knowledge on the subject. Do you find that America doesn't take cheese as seriously as in Europe? By which I mean that there is not a widespread selection of non-mass produced cheeses available.

The general view of the USA is that everywhere sells tasteless artificial factory cheese, and that there is not much variety outside of specialist shops (in a similar vein to the perception of American beer).

I'm a fan of swiss or pepper jack. Swiss goes great on any sandwich, and pepper jack goes good on any burger.

Fuck Aye.

Thats the stuff of Gods. It's fucking lush with McVities digestive biscuits and a nice crunchy apple.

I like goats cheese too, its great in recepies. Not sure of specific names though.

Also that smoked cheese that comes in little sausage type things is really nice.

'Tis true we Americans have a lack of appreciation for good cheese, but not this one. My favorites are Saint Andre, Stilton, basic Goat, Feta (imported only), and a really strong Bleu.

Cheddar and Edam.

I know there's such a thing as Cheddam; I should look some up.

(And Edam gets cool points because the Mythbusters proved it makes a fine cannonball.)

7 pool All in Zergling rush or a cannon rush.

Wait...

OT: Fruilano is the kind my family always buys. I happen to be lactose intolerant though so I haven't exactly had much in the past few years since we found out.
