UMvC3: stopped playing the game a long time ago. can't enjoy it at all anymore, to much BS for me.

When he was announced, I knew he would be my guy and he was.

Loved his design when I first saw him and he is now my favorite comic character.

First didn't want to play with him, but he was perfect for the team.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2:

King is cool, but he was already picked by a friend. Glad he did, because AK is awesome.

Thought he looked cool and he was really fun to play with.

Streetfighter X Tekken

I enjoy somewhat tactical grapplers, so he is cool.

He is just a enjoyable here as in TTT2.
Streetfighter 4: my first fighting game that I played seriously.
He was different and fun to play.

Old guy who kicks your ass? F yeah! love playing with him, but is way too hard for me.

Soul Calibur 5

Just needed a good basic character for 3D games, and Aeon was great for it.

Played her more in 4, but I wanted to play her in 5, she was only too hard for me. Love her design and style.

Tricky question, I'm not so much into fighting games any more as I have a dodgy net connection and no local friends who play them.

So my answers:

Soul Calibur:
Ivy Valentine
Cassandra

Bloody Roar
Gado - The Lion
Marvel - The Leopard
(actually almost all the BR cast but those ^ are my favourites)

Soul Calibur:
Cervantes-A frickin' ghost pirate!
Everybody loves Voldo
Rapheal, because I have a soft spot for rapiers, although it's been suppressed by Dark Souls
and I had a bit of fun with Necrid. I would also say Ivy but that would just be my penis talking.

Tekken:
Yoshimitsu, I can't use him well, but he's still awesome.
Heihachi, a bit slow but he's so badass!
Eddy really flows if you know his moves well enough.
Lee was alright, I liked his kicks and tuxedo, but he wasn't my main.
And I really wanted to love Dragunov, but he's incredibly slow :(

I think that's it, I liked Iron Man in UMVC3 but I played it for about two days.

EDIT: Aw shit, I forgot Luigi from Smash Bros. Brawl.

I've really only experienced the fighting genre through Smash Bros. And only two of them, in fact.

N64's Captain Falcon gave us the Falcon Punch, and controls extemely well. So he's my favorite character from that game.

Brawl's ROB is my personal favorite from that game. And unusual choice, I know, but dat jet booster.

Can I answer even if when it comes to fighting games I have no Idea what the fuck I'm doing?

My favorite Fighting game character is probably Juri
Not because I play as her, but for relatability(word?), being black belt in that Discipline and all.

My favorite character I have experience playing with is Cassandra a la Soul Caliber 2
Though I was a young teenager or ten last time I played this and I thought she looked pretty

Also from experience, my favorite tag team is Zack and Hitomi from Dead or Alive 4

Also, how can you not love this creature?

I would choose a fighting is magic character but...
I don't have to.

Dhalsim has stretchy limbs, keep away.

Twilight Sparkle counts as well. Poneh :D

This thread makes me happy I am not that great at fighting games but I play a lot of them, I dont have a lot of time to game anymore but odds are if I am playing I am playing a fighting game. I am just going to list my favourites from different games and expand on a few of my all time favs :-

Clayfighter (SNES) - Bad Mr Frosty, The Blob
----------------------------------------------------
Killer Instinct - Spinal, Fulgore, Raptor
-----------------------------------------------------
Street Fighter series - Blanka

[this is the character that got me into fighting games whys that you may have asked (although probably didnt) well he just looked awesome to my 10 year old self and since his moves were all charge or mash buttons I could actually do his specials unlike say Ryu who took me ages to figure out how to do a shoryuken. These days it seems stupid but back then all I had was a picture of a pad with a z direction input on it.]

Chunli, Ryu, Makoto
--------------------------------------------------
KoF series - Mai Shiranui, Vice, Chang Koehan
-----------------------------------------------------
Mortal Kombat series - Scorpion, Kitana
------------------------------------------------
Blazblue series - Hakumen, Makoto Nanaya [absolutely friggin love this character from her design down to her moves and personality, I absolutely suck at Blazblue and I am much better with Iron Tager than Makoto but she is just so much fun to play as win or lose I really dont care]
----------------------------------------------------
Soul Calibur series - Cervantes, Tira, Siegfried [one of the few characters I ever got proficient with especially in the original SC and SC 2 (even though he was Nightmare there) as such I have grown to like him a lot he just feels comfortable and I can get him to do what I want most of the time]
----------------------------------------------------------
Tekken series - Roger, Michelle, Asuka, King
----------------------------------
Dead or Alive series - Ayane [again this is one of the characters I just love to play as I love her design and moveset as well as her personality spinning has never been so much fun, its not so good online as DOA netcode is ass (and its not the only series to be bad online) but offline she is just great fun to play as]

Bayman
-----------------------
Skullgirls - Valentine, Peacock

MVC series - Psylocke [this may be cheating but Psylocke is my favourite marvel character by far so when she is in a game I almost always pick her regardless of whether she is good or not or works well in the team]

Rogue, Storm, Amaterasu
------------------
Guilty Gear - Ino, Faust [Love this guy I cant play him to save my life but his character is just awesome]
----------------
Persona 4 Arena - Chie [My favourite character in the RPG and by extension this game as well]
Mitsuru, Teddy
-------------------
Dissidia - Tifa [one of my favourite characters of all time (although I initially hated her)]
-----------------------
Top 5 in no order:-

Tifa Lockheart
Blanka
Makoto Nanaya
Psylocke
Ayane

Top 5 Excluding characters that didnt originate in Fighting games (again no order):-

Blanka
Makoto Nanaya
Ayane
Siegfried
Mai Shiranui

Damn that was tough so many good characters to choose from and I missed out some games as well oh well never mind time to go online and get beaten up.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom - Zero
Killer Instinct - Sabrewulf
Super Smash Bros. - Link
Super Smash Bros. Melee - Roy
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Pit
Street Fighter - Ken
Soul Calibur - Mitsurugi
Primal Rage - Vertigo
Dead or Alive - Hitomi
Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. - Delta
Mortal Kombat - Scorpion

I can't really get into fighting games. I'm awful at them. Those are just what I've played. I am also disappoint that no one remembers Primal Rage.

I find this flow chat to be both accurate, and sad :/ It's kind why I stopped playing SF4, fighting nothing but Kens got old and they all did the same, fucking, thing.

course

did pretty well swapping between the two of them to

Been playing a lot of fighting games recently, mainly Tekken Tag 2 and Street Fighter X Tekken.
My favourites from Tekken are Asuka and Jun (love their fighting style, and the fact they have reversals).
Street Fighter series has Ryu and Chun-Li. I'm no good as her, but I like Juri as a character too.
I'e never really got to grips with the Blazblue series, though I do enjoy playing it. I can only really play as Noel, so she's ended up being one of my favourites.
Mortal Kombat has my all-time favourite character: Sub-Zero. The guy's just awesome. [sub]So glad I managed to fight the urge to make a lame pun there...[/sub]

Never lost a fight in any Mortal Kombat game with this guy.

If he was real I huggle him.
Uh-oh. I'm sensing a heated rivalry underway.

As for me:

I don't know why, I just like the guy. There's something very badass about the guy.

While I did miss Roy, I eventually grew to like Ike. no pun intended.

I can't wait for a type of Soul Calibur generations or what ever they'll call it, with all the best SC characters (So basically just SC 2 again)
Also I find this far more funny than I should.

I'm quite fond of Lambda, as well. I think she actually makes a good all-range character, though midrange is usually the best.

I tend to make copious use of Spike Chaser for spacing. It wears down the opponent's guard primers, and avoiding it requires the opponent to jump, thus rendering them vulnerable to some basic sword combos. Mixing air throws into one's air combos really helps your damage output if you can catch your opponent off guard. All it really comes down to is "stay away and spam short, practical combos."

Also, I think she's cute, and Nu-13 was gleefully psychotic.
Oh god yeah, Guard Primers... They exist don't they? Fuck. All I remember is that Lambda has I think 4 and Tager has at least 11. Fucking ridiculous. And Tager moves you around the screen somehow and he just kills you because I don't think you can block any grabs.

I've never really had any experience of breaking all Primers. I once accidentally broke all of them with Noel's start up FENIR and that's practically it. I also feel that Lambda's special projectiles should have a cooldown Nirvana/slow field style. They don't and you can spam the floor spikes and spinny spikes all day but they feel like they should have more restriction.

I've noticed that using her standing heavy is usually a good idea in any situation. I kept shutting down a Tsubaki because her charge move just gets denied by it. Half screen multihitting projectile as well as a good combo extender.

Oh and Lambda has a pretty badass Astral. Just throwing it out there. Hakumen has the best Astral obviously because it's an instant one hit instakill counter. You can airdash into a light and die.

I play Lambda, Noel and Carl mostly. Carl because I love the Carl/Nirvana synergy they can have even though I SUCK with him

Have you ever played Carl and run out of Nirvana juice? It's 20ish seconds of pure panic because over 50% of your moves are gone practically. I can't play Carl at all because his moveset on his own isn't too good and I keep trying to be fancy with Nirvana. Her moves get canceled by you being in blockstun it looks like and that is REALLY annoying. Or can I not block when i'm moving Nirvana?

I do like it when you manage to set her up as this brick wall between you and your opponent. She has a command grab, several anti airs and forward punches. Fucking awesome. People can't just walk through her so jumping is often the only option.

I just like pets I think. I'm one of those Annies in LoL who plays around with Tibbers' movement and actively scouts/harasses with him while he is up for example. I also get slightly upset when he dies.

I generally only play as Lambda. I'm usually not good at fighting games, so in order to even be decent I have to put all of my time into learning one character.

Out of all of the other characters, though, Hazama and Carl are tied for my least favourite. I've never really been good as either of them. I dislike Hazama's normal attacks, and in Carl's case I just can't manage 2 things at once.

Tager has, like, 10 guard primers. He's not so bad with Lambda, though, if you can keep him at arm's length with Spike Chaser. The distance he can cover on the ground in the time it takes to launch a Spike Chaser is about the same as the distance he'll be pushed back by one, even if he blocks it. If you follow it up properly, he'll be pushed even further away. Also, I've found that Act Parser Zwei Cavalier is a good surprise attack, especially against the AI. ESPECIALLY in the corner. A proper wallbounce combo can lead to some major damage; by catching their opponent off guard, one can easily do 5000 damage in a single wall combo by incorporating a throw.

My current favorite fighting game character:

Parappa the Rapper - Play Station All Stars Battle Royale

He's nimble, and a great character once you get the hang of him. Plus, he's so cheery!

One of my all time favorites:

Heihachi Mishima - Tekken

Badass grandpa indeed.

This guy is my go-to character in the Soul series:

Maxi

Despite looking like a douche-canoe, he's a fun and effect character to use.

My favorite Street Fighter character:

M. Bison

Ironically enough, I'm terrible with charge characters in that series.

And last but not least, my favorite SSB character:

Captain Falcon

Do I really need to explain? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syLIpK1_ltw]

I've finally caught on how to use Lambda's swords and what their trajectories and ranges are. Standard swords are really good anti air and the sneaky behind overhead sword is a pretty fun one to use. I always understand what you're supposed to do with a character in theory pretty quickly but it takes a LOAD of games online before it catches on. Then halfway through one game I randomly *get* it and I can use them fine now.

I can't really manage Nirvana and Carl at once either but it would be so satisfying if I could learn to pull it off. It's already cool enough when you leave Nirvana just off screen and they back into her command grab later on. They have to deal with 2 things as well after all. Carl gets a raw deal in story mode anyway so I might as well show him some love :3

His story mode is probably the most interesting one so far actually. With the whole Nirvana/Ignis thing. It is also the only one I have 100%'d. Noel is on 99%...

[sub]Fuck you game[/sub]

And yeah I just did (failed at) Tager's story mode, my decisions looked fine to me until I died :/ and god he is SLOW. Every character can just walk backwards away from him and he can do fuck all. Not to mention people with half decent back dashes. I can totally see Lambda vs Tager being an absolute slaughter once she manages to lock Tager out. He can jump and walk forward and that is the extent of his movement. Jumps ruined with swords and ground ruined with sword specials.

I would play Hazama because he is a complete troll and my favourite character in the story mode (any scene that includes Hazama gets its awesomeness rating raised by several points automatically.) However I dislike playing the main villain in practically every fighting game. It's why half the character list is off limits to me in UMVC3. Yes I know Doom is so Top Tier but he's a super bad guy so no.

I am liking Makoto now as well. I don't really like boxers but she has a really interesting moveset and furries are cool. All her supers are AWESOME.

I like her intro vs Tsubaki as well. She starts the cool Librarium pre-battle oath thing then somehow forgets the second line when the entire thing consists of two short lines of dialogue. How does she manage that?

All the intros are good in general but I like the more comedic ones.
