A lot of JRPGs I play have amazing soundtracks but there is just one that will always stick with me

I never liked monster hunter tri so maybe my opinion of the game affects my opinion of the music but i always thought the music is way to repetitive and there isn't much variety when it comes to dynamics. It would quickly build a climax and then stay there intill the end of the mission. It's like it was ashamed when it wasn't at it's peak of excitement so i had to always be there.

Oh my garsh! That song is one my favorites from MGS as well. I actually got a bit emotional when it was played in MGS4.

Hell yes. Probably the most nostalgic moment in any game for me. As you walk up the snowy hill, the song starts playing and you see a HD version of the base from nearly 10 years ago. The flashbacks, the details, it was just perfect.

Spoiler: Forest

This one plays when you meet Angela for the first time.

This song stuck with me for some weird reason. As well as the entire soundtrack.

And I've said it before, this soundtrack is perfection. Hardly any video game ost has done that for me. Every single song is doused greatness. I will take that to my grave.

Which is why Silent Hill 2 has a cult following =D

I barely remember the part where this was played. It's been a little while since I had last played.
But, damn if the song doesn't pull you in.

Spoiler: Shadowlord's Castle (Memory)

It's played near the end and it really brings everything together, albeit, in a sad way.

Hell, I admit, this game made me tear up a bit. It's rare that a game these days makes me do that.

Nier is criminally underrated, probably because of the likes of gamespot and their crappy reviewers. Nier definitely has a surprisingly good soundtrack.

By the way, don't you think this song kinda fits with the end of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?

Now that you mention it, I suppose it does a little bit. Never really noticed that, though it's been many years since I last saw One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, so yeah.

Spoiler: Crisis Core

The game wasn't exactly great, due to you only being able to get good weapons by playing sidequests and all of those being very repetitive and in high numbers (300 to be exact), but the final battle and this theme playing on the background was absolutely brilliant. So damn brilliant, it was worth playing through the rest of the game just for this. Quite possibly the best use of gameplay mechanics for story-telling I have EVER seen

I kinda get the feeling I'm just mentioning classics, but I can't help it

Didn't really think the SNES would be capable of such music until I heard this song.
I was blown away the first time I heard this

Oops, my bad at that, I don't know why I typed it. I liked both of them the same really, appropriately awesome music while I'm punching the crap out of someone in a shooting game is always good. But I played an Infiltrator, so the music kept on getting warped as I sniped the boss in the face, while my music played during a cutscene, so I could revel at it's awesomeness.

Don't forget World Revolution from the final battle with Lavos! 35 seconds in and I'm squealing like a girl!

On a more modern note, Assassins Creed 2 had an extremely fitting soundtrack which contributed a lot to the game's atmosphere.

The fallout music sort of took away from the desolate feeling, but if you've ever played with out it, the game can get pretty scary. Fallout New Vegas had a part that really just had me on edge. When I was a Camp Searchlight(no music) I was really on my seat because these ghouls were tough, but from far away there were some NCR troopers and I couldn't tell because of the fog and because all the ghouls were dressed as NCR anyway. So I through a frag at them and once I realized they were NCR I ran away before ED-E or Raul could damage my NCR reputation too much.
Anyway, back on topic, if I had my radio music on I probably would have been way more reckless. Enough so that I would've just gotten in everything I saw's face. Never noticed how music effected the way I play.

Mass Effect 1 and 2's soundtrack are personal favorites of mine. After that, I would have to go with the Halo series, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, and Red Dead Redemption.
