Akira, followed by Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell. I know my classics. :p
Same here.

Though, watching Akira at age ten probably wasn't the best thing to do. That movie scared the shit out of me so bad that I dared not touch it for the following 2 years.

Then agian, it was nice baptism by fire.

InuYasha. I thought it was the shit until I realized that it was redundant and virtually never-ending.

The first 2 anime i watched were FLCL and Death Note. I'm not sure which one would be the first (started death note first, finished FLCL first). That isn't including the ones i watched as a child.

Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon, a little bit of YuGiOh. I never really focused on any except Pokemon I think, and maybe Sailor Moon.

...Does Card Captors count? I used to watch that, even though I didn't like it that much.

Haruhi Suzumiya was my first "proper" anime that I got into, and pretty much the only one.

I saw Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Digimon when i was younger, but since i didn't know they were anime, those don't count. But the very first anime i was aware that i did watch (knowing it was an anime) has to definitely be MAR

Dragonball Z! That was and still is my favorite. Others that I watched at the time I loved were Kenshin and Zoids. I wouldn't miss those for anything!

I think the first anime I saw or knew about was Sailor Moon, but the first one I got into was Pokemon.

back when I was 10 Pokemon followed no anime and then by InuYasha around 15 (a girl I had a crush on loved it) and that got me started in the wonderful world of anime. shortly after a friend introduced me to hentai and my mind was ruined. Now at age 21 still a fan of anime but have left hentai back in my teen-aged years.

Pokemon I guess is technically my first, though I would say Ghost in the Shell was the first I took more seriously.

I used to watch the manga movies on late night channel4 (Akira/Monster city/Guyver etc) and it was amazing! Cartoons with blood and guts? RAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!!! Then I randomly caught an ep of DBZ on cartoon network and all the memories came back!
[side note: I think DBZ is the only anime Ive ever watched where i prefer the dubbed voices]
I used to look forward to gettin home from school to watch the next exciting episode of DRAGON BALL Z!!!
Once I had the internet I think the 1st anime I really got into was Bleach! Then Naruto now Ill give anything a go!

It depends, if you mean first anime I watched in length, hands down Dragon Ball Z, if you mean the first I ever really got into, Deathnote (and I mean the Japanese Dub, not the sub-par American sub, and I'm not stereotyping the American version was worse IMO).

Not including Pokemon, Digimon and the rest....I think it was FullMetal Alchemist or Bleach. I can't remember. FMA I think.

The first one I saw was Inuyasha, I only saw one episode and couldn't figure out what it was or when it was on. Being the 7 year old when I saw it my first thought was "OMG KITTY EARS I LOVE THIS SHOW!"

The first anime I seriously watched was Pokemon, like a lot of other people. I also loves Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, and Monster Rancher around that time too.
