Hm...She's the sword, eh? That's pretty weird, but cool at the same time.
Plus she looks like one of the Great Fairies in WW, actually, more like the head one. This should be interesting...

Well in the Wii version of TP he was right-handed to accommodate for the majority of the population which is right-handed. In the GameCube version he was still left handed. This is probably the same situation.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This, exactly. It's not a GC title anymore.

Seriously, it's not too hard to.. /sigh

Maybe you have a player choice.

Oh joy, so now link will be running around with an anthropomorphic personification of the master (or should I say "mistress") sword? The fan-fics are lusting for blood. Pretty soon you'll hear about Link boning his weapons on DeviantArt...
What next? Will they have another Zelda game where the sword, the shield and Link's hat come to life, and then they all go raiding Hyrule? Then they meet up with Link's animated slingshot and bow, and they soon learn about friendship and understanding?

Hope they don't change it, made me feel connected to Link, and it feels better that he uses the left hand. Making him righty will just leave us with unease and wondering why they'd change that.
They changed him to a righty in in the wii version of TP.

But then again they also flipped the whole damn game from the gamecube version.

Why doesn't he have a sword? Probably because he hasn't played the first quarter of the game that you always have to get past to get the Master Sword in every damn Zelda. I mean, really, why don't you just give us the Master Sword to begin with? Now Link doesn't even have one at all? Come on.
Um, you're saying it would make sense to start a nobody off with a completely powerful, legendary sword right from the get-go? How would that make the game any better? In Twilight Princess, Link had a sword good enough to deal with weaker enemies in the beginning of the game, and got a stronger sword later on. I don't see how anybody can complain about that. Is the complaint that he always get a stronger sword around the same time, or something?

And now you're complaining because they might be shaking things up a little bit? If he's not going to have a sword, that opens up new gameplay options and should be exciting.

The logic of some people just baffles me.
I think they were joking. Calm down, Zelda is not serious business.

That would make sense in a Zelda world yeah, but my case, is why the fuck anyone would go to that much trouble for that!? I love Zelda games and all that but c'mon! Who has that much free time on their hands?

Well, if he doesn't have a sword he might a well bash people with his sheild or something ^^
Hmm..If you can bash people with the shield I'm buying a wii...
..yeah That's a flimsy excuse, but I want to play tp as well.

Even though I do not have a Wii, nor do I have any plans to purchase one in the future, I do hope for the sake of Wii players that this doesn't end up being some cheap gimmick-y Zelda where in the stead of a sword, you point at an enemy with the Wiimote and press a button to toss some dull spell at them. Link is a swordsman, and that is all there is to it.
Hell yeah. The only magic Link should ever use is either magic arrows or his charged spin attack. Hell, you don't even need magic. TP didn't have magic, and the combat worked AMAZINGLY well. Especially with all the Hidden Skills.
What would be even worse, however, is if they pulled a Prince of Persia, assuming that the random girl is the Master Sword incarnate, and they make her Link's Elica. *shoots self*
That would be TERRIBLE.

my very first though i got when i was looking at that pic was "she's the sword! duuuh!" and i started googling the master sword, and yeah, with abit of morphing she does have alot of resemblem to it...

besides a living sword? its used like 10000 in Jrpgs - MASA MUNE? the 2 gods that inhabit Masamune in Chrono Triggers? just to mention the first one that popped into my head

I don't even mind if they do give him magic (given it's something interesting and useful), just as long as the sword is his primary weapon. Taking the sword from Link would be like taking Ryu and Ken out of Street Fighter.

Wasn't it because the whole game was mirrored? The GC version of TP had Link handed normally.
the game was mirrored to accommodate for the hand change. I played through both and you'd be surprised how many times I'd run left or right only to find a wall where a passage was, I cant tell you how many times that happened in the tavern.

I'm guessing you never played Ocarina of Time. he had 3 spells, two were useless but the third made a dome of fire around him that burned what ever it touched, but you remained motionless while it happened and it came out more like a wave in a dome shape. I cant tell you how many times I cheated my way through dungeons by using that spell instead of carefully lining up arrows into fire then into the target.

Ugh...another right-handed Link, huh? I realize that its on the Wii, but people are going to get really confused about whether Link is left handed or not.

I rest my case.

Money now says the title is Zelda: Legend of the Master Sword. Or some shit along these lines.
Definatly, she's the sword.

This means the next games "Navi" will be the master sword itself.

Kinda screwed up by the Wii port of Twilight Princess (and it WAS a port from the Gamecube, which it was designed for) where even though Link was designed as a lefty, the entire game was flipped in a mirror image... apparently to help with how most Wii users would be right handed and you had to swing the wii-mote for each sword attack.

Hmm... gets me thinking.

It is a common theme in Zelda to have a battle between two worlds; the light and dark, day and night, past and future, light and twilight. Could the next game be a battle between two parallel universes.. each a Mirror Image, each universe being affected by what happens in the other... yet in many ways opposite?

This is just my random guess, no obvious indication of mirrors or symmetry in the promo poster, except that left handed shield.

What'd ya guys think? Yay or nay on Link fighting in between different mirror Hyrule being a good or bad idea? (whether likely or not)
