Your First MMO?

Like most others in the thread: Runescape. Still occasionally go on, but I can never do anything 'causse my account isn't a member's account any more

My first online gaming experience was Diablo 2: LoD online, which I would call close enough to an MMO setting. So. Much. Goddamn. Nostalgia.

Ahhh... It's all coming back to me now.

Time to search for the duel/duell/duelz/duellz/duelling/dueling/... games and get ready to roll.

A game called "The World". It actually had less graphics than OP's first mmo and the server could only support like a maximum of 20-30 people. After that one I started playing Flyff. I had a great time in both.

That may have been mine, too - branched out into a whole bunch of similar "World" MMOs - I can't remember if I spent more of my time in The World or Brasil Worlds, but I'm sure it was one of those. Mostly social, right? No monsters to kill, even though if you looked hard enough you could teleport down to hell and admire the little imps running around.

Failing that, Shattered Galaxies, which was basically squad-based Starcraft. There was a huge world map with all the provinces that kept on getting conquored, like in Dune 2, only it changed perpetually because the players were in charge.

Tibia, and I got stuck for over two years. Haha. I can't believe it.

The 1st would be Runescape, played that for almost 2 years.
Then I started playing many other MMO's, but only for a month or so (before moving on to a different one).
And now I have been playing Guild Wars for a couple of years and my next MMO wil be Guild Wars 2

Apart from Runescape (I think everyone played this ) I played an awesome game with an amazing guild.

TF2 could qualify depending on how you define "MMO"

Runescape was my first mmo. I played it for 20 minutes, got bored logged out and went to do something else.

Runescape, then WoW years later after some friends got me into it. It was fun until they all left.


Dabbled in LOTRO for a while, and right now I'm addicted to the RIFT beta. It's looking ridiculously promising.

RuneScape. That game was really popular back then...
But after that, I kinda didn't play a lot of MMOs...Maybe Rakion counts?
Anyways, eventually i stumbled upon Dungeons & Dragons Online, and quickly got addicted to it since i had played a lot of D&D3.5 and there were a lot of similarities. Great game, really enjoyed it.
