I played my brother's Pokemon Red for about 10 minutes before I found a copy of Pokemon Blue lying in the middle of the road.

In order, I played:
Red
Blue
Yellow
Snap
Stadium
Hey You, Pikachu

And I haven't played a new one since (not including the Smash Bros. games).

My first was a pokemon blue that I got with my birthday money when I was a boy. As soon as I got home my dad told me off becasue he thought that pokemon was, and I quote, 'a stupid waste of time and money'. It was about a month before I work up the nerve to try and play it myself.

Also Pokemon Blue. Got it for Christmas along with my very first Toblerone bar.

That chocolate has never tasted so good as it then at that time. Nor did Pokemon feel so enjoyable as the first. Silver was awesome and probably the favorite of them all but Blue will still keep the nostalgia for me.

Blue version, and I actually still have it. Sold my Gold and Sapphire, really regret that, but now have FireRed, Emerald, Platinum, SoulSilver, and Blue (of course).

Blue. It was solely an aesthetic choice, since I didn't know about exclusive Pokémon at that point. I had several friends with Red, so trading for max was doable.

I don't even remember my next Pokémon, because after all the time invested in the first, it wasn't the same to me.

I refused to have Red or Blue because I wanted to have Pikachu.
Pikachu was my reason as well. I loved how he was always one step behind me. =)

Well technically my first Pokemon game was Pokemon Snap. That's mainly because I never had a Gameboy so it wasn't until I got Pokemon Stadium that I could play any of them. Then I got Yellow and eventually Pokemon Stadium 2 and Gold. I'll still go back and play that sometimes, although now I'm starting to think about looking around for a Gameboy so I don't have to lug around an N64 just to play.

I got Pokémon: Red, pretty much when it first came out. Because Red's a way cooler colour than Blue.
This pretty much says it all, the coolness factor of a fire breathing dragon versus a turtle with water guns, Red version was pretty cool

Red and blue. I managed to finish the dex before anyone else in my school, and I used the team I'd gathered to win a little link-battle tournament we had on one of the last days of term, finishing against someone that had a glitched Raichu showing level 264. Intense smugness resulted.

Blue was my first not long after it and red came out. Me and a friend were trying to decide which to get, and Blue had more psychic in it, which I liked.
