EDIT: My bad, I thought the OP was talking about the Threads page, not the Posts page. I read his post wrong, disregard my earlier post.

As for me? I know what it was: Sarcasm. My first year here was nothing but that. And nothing yet after that, either.

"Here's the thing with self defense, you're allowed to use "justifiable force." What this is largely depends on the situation. Yes, the kid was throwing bricks, possibly endangering the life of the woman. However, the kid was twelve.

Honestly, if I were that kid's parents, I wouldn't press charges simply because he was being a complete moron and harrassing the poor old lady. Like most people who do that, I'm sure the kid had had, at some point in time, friends to help him harrass her.

Honestly, she probably pulled the gun and told him to stop, he acted like he was going to throw a brick, so she shot him. Believe me, if he was close enough to be throwing bricks into the house, the lady probably had a good chance of hitting where she was aiming. I mean, he is twelve, how far can he throw a brick? Besides, it was on her property, she had every right to defend herself if she felt she was in danger. I've had stuff thrown at me before, and I'll tell you, bricks whizzing by your head makes you a little concerned for your life. Legally speaking, she might have even been justified in killing him.

If she does get charged with something and I was on that jury, I'd give a verdict of not guilty. Sure, she could have handled it better, but how calm can you really be if bricks are smashing through your windows?"

This was in response to the "News Junkie: Elderly woman shoots bully, no charges!" thread, which I found amusing. I had signed up that day and a few minutes later, this was my first post. XD

Are you still playing MW2?
Gotta say, I hate the game to the core. Like, genuine hatred- its as if the game wants to snuggle all the crap players and give them as many advantages as possible, the only reason i play it is cos my friends do, URGH.

That said, i play cod4 when i can and have a great time. such a shame that they blew it so hard with this mainstream piece of scum. ><

...wow. I was a total dick.
...that's embarrassing.

My first post was years before I actually started posting here regularly...I asked how to post a picture, and I never even posted that picture.

I'm too lazy to check what my first post was but I think it was a question regarding preference between corn or flour tacos. Corn ftw.

The movie is actually an excellent representation of war, and the extreme damage it can do to one's mind and behavior. And since war is 99% sitting around, and 1% defecating on yourself in terror (a myth I'm confused by, as I can testify that skirting death more often than not causes your bowels to tighten to the point where such actions are impossible), it obviously makes a movie seem... somewhat oddly paced and boring at times.

I liked it a lot though. It deserved the Oscars (or at least deserved them more than Avatar, the most expensive popcorn movie ever made).

Excellent review though. I agree with most of what you said, other than final conclusion and your description of a 'stone cold, adrenalin junkie nutcase.'
I joined this site to argue about a movie.

Weird.

Fun note: It was my first, and only, coherent post.

Y'know the Recent posts aren't about when YOU lost posted, but when the thread was last commented on, right? Check your post history, you'll see. I even remember posting in a Game forum a MONTH ago and it says it was updated just yesterday, at the exact time the latest reply was. So while your last post in the Recent is close, odds are it's not your first post. Just wanted to get that out there.

As for me? I know what it was: Sarcasm. My first year here was nothing but that.
Not for me, when you click on the "recent" section, the posts go up in order. It's the "threads" section where it is the most recently updated.

I'm just not seeing it. I demand proof! Proof I tell you, proof. Your claim of attaining awesominity will forever be in doubt without it.

Mine was to start a thread discussing the legitimacy of William Shakespears existence. Got about 150 responses, not bad for a first thread.

My first post was also the first thread I made, which went thusly:

"When playing stealth games, I always encounter a few situations where after a guard notices something, he says something to convince himself that nothing is wrong and goes back to his patrol in a context that makes it hilarious. For example, while playing as a stealth-based archer in oblivion, two guards were walking down a staircase, and I sniped the one in back with a fire arrow, and after the guard in front finished inspecting the smoldering corpse, he said "Huh, it must've been the wind". What was your best moment?"

I loved some of the responses I got in that thread :D

I was apparently one track minded. My first post was in a limerick thread, pointing people to a website for them, and then that was followed up immediately by a post in a haiku thread that put a limerick in haiku form.

The guy who writes XKCD set up a database of limericks and there are an awful lot of good ones there.
