my first thought usually goes something like this, and is immediately sent to my vocal chords without any mental filtering first:

"JEEEEZUS CHRIST!! KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT!!!"

I think it's a territorial thing. We don't want unwelcome creatures in our living spaces, plain and simple. Plus they're so freakin' creepy!
My words you posses them.

Thats just the way the world works, there are literally BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of bugs.

If you don't kill them, they will over run, they will eat the all of the smaller bugs, the said bugs will then die of starvation due to eating all of the prey. The mice then having nothing to eat, they die, the hawks have nothing to eat, they die.

Its the circle... the circle of life!

Cool i didn't know they were real. Was genuinely my first thought as they are extremely rare over here in Ireland.

Its pretty much ok to kill most insects because their so unintelligent that death isn't even a concept their minds can comprehend. Also because they look gross and spread disease.

Would A young child with no concept of death that is ugly looking and has a contagious disease count as well?
If its REALLY ugly I might have already mistaken it for a roach and killed it already. Really though, thats like asking a deer hunter if hes ever thinks about the deer's right to live right before he shoots it. Hes not going to care because he doesn't personally know any deer.

I'd think "wow, that's the first roach I've ever seen!" and then ponder what to do next. Maybe shoo it out if possible.
