Burnout series. This is due to it's simplicity. Here's a car, race it and crash other cars as violently as possible. Got it? Good.

I can spend countless hours on the Tag Force games, just experimenting. And I always find myself creating a new character in Oblivion every now and then.

Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars. Hands down an awesome and my fav. game, I know almost every little secret about that game and could mow through it at this point if I wanted to.

Halo: Combat Evolved, its not just my game, its my first game. Without it I would not be a gamer.

Probably Final Fantasy IX. Given that I'm replaying it over ten years later for the I-don't-know-how-manyth time it'd probably be my favourite game evar.

Newer additions include Mass Effect, any Tomb Raider games and Stranglehold. But Stranglehold is more like a fun diversion game rather than a serious 'I'd defend this till I die' game because before Stranglehold it was Max Payne and I'm sure that when MP3 comes out (if it comes out) then I'll return to Max Payne as a series.

Also Halo.

Age of Empires II - I've been loving it for more than a decade. II was the best in the series, in my opinion - straightforward but still fun. I do, however, end up replaying the Age of Mythology singleplayer campaign about once a year for some reason.

Oblivion, I probably end up starting a new game every few month are so... at least until Skyrim comes out.

Also Half-Life 2 (and all the episodes and Portal), game making at it's finest right there.

EDIT: I'm not really counting multiplayer games cuz those are meant to be continually played over again. But L4D and TF2 would most definitely be on that list.

I personally have a few, but one of my main newer ones is Lost Planet: Colonies, mainly because I really like the story, gameplay, and the overall snowy environments and the like. I can see myself playing this game over and over again, no matter what else ends up coming out.
Hah, same as you. Lost Planet: EC used to be it, but now it's Colonies because EC is dead and Colonies is the same anyway. I've spent so long on it, I love how I can come back after not playing it for weeks and still kill everyone, it's quite gratifying.

Unreal Tournament, Unreal Championship, Guild Wars, Garry's Mod, Pitfall and GTA IV are some others off the top of my head too. I have a lot, I can play certain games for years without getting bored, and I can always come back to them after weeks without playing.

I have quite a few of these kind of games. I don't think Any game has been ruined for me by there being a sequel or remake or spin-off (quite frankly the notion sounds stupid to me) but off of the top of my head the one game that stands above the rest that I can always go back to is probably

Okami and for Co-Op I'd pick Resident Evil 5 (Split Screen ftw)

Oblivion.

I remember stepping out of the sewers for the first time, and seeing the vastness of the sky, hearing the birds sing and witnessing this grand ode to exploration, this beautiful and dangerous and mystical world that had been waiting for me. Waiting for when all of its wonders to come to light, no stone nor ruin unturned.
