I have quite a few of these to get off my chest.

First off I preordered Duke Nukem Forever and loved it. It's not going to win any awards and YES it's filled with cliches. But if you turn your brain off it's fun. Though whoever designed that underwater stage near the end needs to be fired.

I LOVE the Dynasty Warriors games and have been playing number 7 to death most of the summer.

I consider Dragon Age 2 to be VASTLY superior to Origins. Funner combat, more distinctive art design (origins looked too much like oblivion in my opinion), a plot that (while a bit less epic) was much more focused with better character development, and of course a main character who can actually SPEAK and thus have a personality. Yes I wish that environments were repeated less but it added to the feeling that you were actually affecting the city.

I have no love whatsoever for the Halo series, for one simple reason, Master Chief, He has zero personality, barely speaks, when he does speak it's only to spout generic action movie lines, and to top it off despite being a so-called super-soldier he never really seems to do much in gameplay that couldn't have been done by someone else. I've only ever finished number 2 and that was because of the Arbiter (Wish I could have played the whole game as him, much more interesting character).

I simply don't get why people get so addicted to WoW. I've played it (to around lvl 35) and frankly, while I don't HATE it, i just got bored out of my skull.

I COMPLETELY agree with Yahtzee's idea that a game should be able to stand on the strength of it's single player campaign. Nothing kills my interest in a game faster than knowing that the multiplayer was the focus. Even worse is when there's no singleplayer at all (I know at least one of the Tom Clancy games was like this, as well as several smaller titles on xbla). Borderlands is the exception because while it's meant for multiplayer it can be played just fine single.

I hate FF7 and everything about it. Clouds a whiny little emo kid, sephiroth is a mama's boy(not just an insult, think about it for a second), a Aeris (yes I called her the original American name Aerith is an even dumber name) was a useless character in gameplay. In the story they may have needed her to get the white materia but nothing she could do in gameplay really felt like it couldn't be done just as well by anyone else.

sorry for the wall of text. lol

I didn't like the ending of Shadow of the Colossus.
I'm sorry.

Perhaps I've grown too shallow in my old age, but after all the effort and pure enjoyment of hunting down all 16 monsters and puzzling my way to the top Prince of Persia style, the ending was a big, big letdown for me. ;_;

i start playing games on medium difficulty, and if that is too hard i switch to easy. challenge is all well and good but i don't have enough free time to die 17 times at the same point in a game and keep trying. if its too hard, i turn the difficulty down.

i don't like the half-life series. i didn't play the first all that much, but i gave the second until ravenholm to change my mind. its just not my thing.

if i may say, i think you need to look at master chief as a character in much the same way you look at DNF as a game. turn your brain off and have fun with him.

I don't like Half-Life 2. I've tried it in The Orange Box, and I just don't care for it. Plus, I'm not much of a PC gamer. an FPS player, or a huge science guy, so there's really nothing about the game that would make me hold any emotional attachment to it. It's just not my kind of game.

As for Minecraft, I can see its appeal more, but I could never get into that either.

I'm also someone who doesn't believe gaming is a perfect hobby, and as such, I will not blindly jump to its defense like an attack dog at any slightest mention of gaming in connection with something negative.

Wish i could. My problem with that is that Halo seems to want to take itself too seriously which makes it hard to turn my brain off. lol

I remembered a few more so here goes.

I have never finished a Legend of Zelda game and have no desire to. In fact the only one i've played beyond the first hour was A Link to the Past and then i got hopelessly stuck on a boss and gave up. Wind Waker in particular annoyed me beyond the usual "Celda" complaints. I played it at a friends place. It took me like 2 hours to get off the stupid farm and by then i just didn't care anymore.

I also prefer Chrono Cross over Chrono Trigger. Though the fact that i never played trigger until a couple years ago may have something to do with this. I played Cross when it was new.

I liked the new Splatterhouse game. In fact i preordered it and have the Terror Mask statue that entitled me to sitting on my shelf right next to my plush Cthulhu

Despite the fact that I love both gaming and Japanese culture, I have absolutely no interest in Japanese games. Of the half dozen sitting on my shelf, I've only completed RE5 (much of which I found to be turd).

I really like romance in games. It's a little "flamboyant", I know, but I love a game with a deep romance arc.

Like other posters... I hated the Uncharted series. I have watched/played the first one start to finish and have played and seen bits from 2, but the protoganist is such a douchy cocky narble bag that I couldn't stand the otherwise OK story. Lastly the game play was extremely bland and unoriginal.

As its on your list, liking duke nukem forever, i had a lot of fun just messing around in it.
I would say disliking the overly used fps genre, but that seems kinda common these days.
Is disliking mmorpgs one?

In my mind, with the exception of porting Okami to Wii, Nintendo has done nothing of value in at least 8 or 10 years. Half of their IP's before that time still weren't any good, including Zelda. This is coming from an owner of every Nintendo console since NES (including virtual boy, thank you).

I also believe that online multiplayer is stupid and I don't understand why everyone (including developers) can't just be satisfied with one or two multiplayer games rather than requiring that EVERY new game take time away from its single player campaign to create some maps that you'll be bored with in 2 months and probably complain about anyway.

2) I liked Deus Ex: Invisible War (Again, I didn't judge it by its predecessor, but rather as a shooter on its own merits.)
That is the right way to judge games :)

As for me I think Heroes of might and magic 4 is the best heroes and I've been playing the series since 2. I don't get why people think 3 is the best. Even H5 is better( of course H3 isn't bad, IMO it's just overrated )

I... I go on GameFAQs the second I have a problem with something in a game. Including any puzzles that I don't solve immediately. I'M SO ASHAMED. D:

I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game.

I liked Anders, and agreed with him.

I found Half Life 2 too be boring. The only thing I can remember standing out from that game is Ravenholm. The rest I found shit. Maybe it's cause I played it too late and missed the hype, maybe I'm just oblivious to it's charms, I dunno.
