Pokemon, Even though my friends are look at me like I'm crazy, I still play them...

Otherwise if a good sale comes up (Like 50%+ off) on a game I want to play badly...I can convince my parents (Who for some reason have almost 100% control over what I buy despite being 19) to let me get it...Heck thats how I got a NEW copy of ELITE BEAT AGENTS for EIGHT BUCKS...And I bought Assassin's Creed for 10 not knowing if I could play it...And Audiosurf for 2.50...

Blizzard Entertainment titles, as long as they aren't Pay-to-play. Screw you World of Warcraft...

Racing games are a ***** for me. I have no patience after losing a race for the 60th god damn time! Or I get into a kick ass streak in an FPS (Halo or COD) Then after I die then I get owned by everything. After going 15-0 for the first half of the game I end up with a score of 21-18.

The writing. If a review says that the story and characters are good but the gameplay is not, I will go for it and play it through, probably more than once. (Dreamfall, I am looking at you.) The one thing that will break me in a game is bad inventory management. I popped open the Morrowind inventory screen and after five minutes I was clawing at my face with visual frustration. I've never cleared the starting area on that game because the minute I started acquiring loot I wanted to put my head through the screen.

I'll buy almost anything for £2 or less, even if it's worthless

The Need for Speed franchise. The games progressively get worse, but I always seem to buy them. With the new games that are coming out I know that it'll be the same old dribble. They'll just add more cars, and it'll have a slightly different story, but I'll still end up buying/playing them.
Hot Pursuit 2 was the shit.

A game with possibly awesome villains or bosses, I have a habit of wanting to fight bosses who are challenging and awesome at the same time.

Games were you can "level up" or something to that effect (like upgrading weapons) always make me want to play more.

Pokemon games. They are the same every time but I must buy.
This, oh dear lord this! Also sales like Gamestop's buy 2 get 1 free. I picked out two games that looked about average, not great but not horrible, and the got the case for Soul Caliber 3 (I wanted me some character customization =p ). Turns out they didn't have Soul Caliber and asked me if I wanted another game, so I went and picked out 'Devil Kings' instead of Soul Caliber, despite that game being the only reason for me getting the other two. I left the store before I realized what had happened

Lag, Latency issues, You name it. If i get into a game without them i am a force to reckon with (9 times outta 10, i have off days) But once i get em, i range from great (not awesome) to useless (as in, i can waste a clip of any gun into someones back at point blank when they are not looking or moving and still not get a kill.)

Its frustrating as hell, but makes me better at least :p.
