I'm a sucker for a game set in pre or post World War 2 settings. The country is irrelevant, but if it's set in the 1930s, '40s or '50s then I will most likely be buying it.

Music. An awesome soundtrack will see me through any game.

It's the main reason I was able to get through Chrono Cross, despite total confusion, and Eternal Sonata, despite total boredom.

An excellent cast behind well-developed characters (ME2 is a pretty good example).

Magic... I love throwing fireballs at my enemies. But I guess fantasy in general axe/swords and what not, and something that combines the two is a bonus... I miss you lvl 80 deathknight.

Sandbox game, especially one where your superhuman- this has caused me to buy some truly shocking travesties (caff*Crackdown 2*caff caff).

But then again its hooked me on some beautes- Just Cause 2 being a recent stand out to me.

(Oh and action RPG's- to say I played Oblivion to death is an understatement.

Whats that one thing that will instantly get you interested in a game? The thing which makes you buy games just for having them?

Mine is a good zombie enemy. Flood in halo, zerg in starcraft, scourge in WoW. I love me some zombie menace :D.
Something that gets me into a game..?
Sci-Fi
horror
or fantasy

mostly if it's FREE

with NO STUPID MODERN ASPECTS! (no grinding, no fetch quests, no stupid health regen, no 2 weapon limit, NONE OF THAT CRAP!)

that being said I love Magicka, Painkiller, League of Legends, and StarCraft 2

Anything describing itself as a strategic RPG. It's all Disgaea's fault, really. One awesome game, and suddenly I can't help but scramble for anything even vaguely similar in the hopes I'll enjoy it. On the bright side, that works out for me most of the time.

A really great story and bonus points if it's a horror game, love me some scares!

ZOMBIES! I love these undead f*ckers! These and magic/powers, I love me some magic. So a game with magic and zombies would be awesome, only if zombies were one shot kills, because in Oblivion those zombies have rock hard skin. Also humour will make me love a game.
