Wow, I'm amazed, Morty, and I highly respect and admire your resilience and dedication to your hobbies. My hat goes off to you. *bows*

Hmmm...
For me, I'd just say that it was a bit of a major birth defect that kinda screwed up my life.
But at least it made me into the person I am today. While I may have started as a physical wreck, it has allowed me to sharpen my mind.
Still, damn treatments cost a nice, tidy sum of money to sort out >.> Thanks to the NHS, I am still alive, though. One reason at least why I owe this country my loyalty.

My personal Handicap is that I have Diabetes. This has inhibited me from eating everything I can and want to and has made me take shots full of man made insulin.
I know your pain, i got lucky and only have to take pills to control my sugers

Ouch, that is bad; we're both pretty much screwed without our glasses.
Yea, you could say that.

I have GERD (or as my friends and I call it, involuntary bulimia) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastroesophageal_reflux_disease] and when I was about 15 (27 now) I managed to hyper extend both my legs at the same time. I was practicing before a soccer game, and I was always a power kicker, great on defense and goalie. I went to kick the ball and you guess it, I missed. My left leg (the leg I kick with) sustained most of the damage but both legs were injured pretty close to the growth plate where the legs connect to the hip. Now if I sit certain ways or stand still too long that joint starts to hurt pretty bad.

Edit: Also I "trip" over my words a lot. Though I wouldn't really call it a handicap and I wouldn't call it a stutter, my mind just moves too fast for my mouth to keep up. I've mostly picked it up from a friend whom I obviously spend too much time with if I picked it up from him.

Hooray another "We're all sick and special" thread![footnote]Seriously, these are done loads and every minor ailment seems pop up. I swear I saw "I have a cold" once.[/footnote]
Meh.

I have severe Haemphilia (Link [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haemophilia] and Simple Link [http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haemophilia]) though it doesn't have much effect on my life, so I don't actually consider it a handicap.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but didn't you go paintballing with Escapism UK last year? I'm just wondering, since I thought haemophilia kind of precludes activities of that nature.

I'm not particularly strong, and that's a big problem since most of the issues happening at my school are resolved with a fight.

Im very neurotic, far too kind, and i cannot somehow be taken seriously, seeing as how i have funny face and i dont belong in a serious context.

When i get excited, i cant seem to find the right words, and i stutter helplessly.

I suffer from Andy Kaufman syndrome, meaning i make jokes that only i understand or that dont really make sense, or reference things out loud that people have no idea what they are.

I suffer from chronic procrastination.

I used to have OCD, but i recovered from that. (mostly)

also, green-red colour blind, allergic to nickel, and a dangerously sharp nose.

Yea, I went this year too. I also go snowboarding as often as I can (another activity that isn't recommended). My parents decided not to raise me in a bubble and be too protective (as others might) and let me do what everyone else does. If I get hurt, I get hurt and we can treat it. No big problem.

A good example of this was going to Sonisphere Festival a few weeks ago, I filled up on drugs (their intravenous injections so I didn't want to take needles with me) beforehand and off I went. Unfortunately I got a bit murdered watching Iron Maiden and could barely walk afterwards, the backs of my legs were a deep purple - I wish I had photos. I got picked up, filled up on drugs again and took more than usual for the next week and a half.

I'm fine now though.

Yea, I got more injured standing around for 11 hours than paintballing.

Unless you count Asperger's Syndrome, ADD, and OCD tendencies as handicaps (which I do not), then I have none apart from being slightly out of shape.

Holy heck. I'm brimming with an inexplicable admiration. Usually I'd be more prudent about these things, but.. Way to kick those recessive genes in the face, my friend.

So effective treatments exist? Synthetic clotting agents and so on? I heard something about a gene being isolated that coded for platelets [or rather, the blood cells that break up to form platelets].
