Team I have some skill with:
M.O.D.O.K
Haggar
X-23

M.O.D.O.K was a lot of fun to use, and I do pretty good with him, his style fitting extremely well with me. Haggar's style went pretty well with me, as long as the other team doesn't spam projectiles, and I long time trying out people for a third spot, until finally deciding on X-23.

Team I'm experimenting with:
Arthur
Dormammu
Captain America

Arthur's style is a little strange, but there are a few moments where I can genuinely kick ass with him, and I'm hoping to make those moments happen more often. Dormammu, I'm still getting used to, but like Arthur, every now and then, I do a good job with him. I'm still working on the third spot, but I've started using Cap and his fighting style just seemed to instantly click with me.

Also: Has anyone made an MvC3 group on this site yet?

Currently my only staple character is Dormammu.
Also experimenting with Deadpool, Super Skrull, Viewtiful Joe, Ryu, Chun Li, Haggar, Dante and Iron Man.

Intending to test out Akuma, Sentinel, Felcia, and others.

Undecided, as I have yet play it, but it will probably include Felicia if shes as good as she was in MVC2, Hesin Ko, if she's as good as she looks, and for third, I'll probably just see who's good.

Not having played a fighting game since Killer Instinct, I've been slowly testing out all of the characters. It's surprising how balanced they all are. So I don't have an official team yet, but I like:

Sentinel
Phoenix
Chun-Li
Morrigan
Storm
Super Skrull
Hulk
Ryu\Akuma
Doctor Doom
Wesker
Spider-Man
Magneto

So I guess I'll pick 3 out of those, but probably I'll never have one official team, since I like to be versatile. Also there's 10 characters I've yet to try out so we'll see.

I've got a followup question for this thread:

Do you guys pick your team because they fit your playing style the best, or because you like the character's style/moves and want to become good with them?

So basically characters fit you vs. train to fit characters.

or do you pick them because you've heard they're the best in a certain way and you want to use that to your advantage?
Yeah I tend to mainly use characters that I am a fan of, i.e Deadpool, Dante, Wesker, Chris....

A lot of the time at the moment I'm randoming as I've never played a MvC game before, but I have my favourites as stated in my original post.

My Main team is Amaterasu/Akuma/Dante, a new team I made today is Ryu/Arthur/Zero.

I'm on a 26-0 win streak on ranked with my first team so trust me, it works well :D.

Amaterasu is by far my favorite character and it's funny that she totally dominates Sentinel with her projectile counter and long range super moves. Dante I always loved and Akuma is super fun to use in this (his air beam super hits OTG after an epic air combo...what could be cooler than that) so yeah, I use who I like and I do it with Style :p.

I usually use Modok/Arthur/Deadpool. I find that Modok's playstyle really suits me, whereas Arthur's projectile spam is also really enjoyable. Deadpool is just hilarious. Put them all together for a Hyper Team Combination and I can easily make a 145 hit combo.

I also love Dormammu. He's the best fire-headed dimension ravaging lord of chaos there is.

I've been going with Doom, Super Skrull, and Spencer as my main team, with Trish, Pheonix, and Sentinel as my next most common.

Tron Bonne keeps kicking my ass for some reason. Her blocks ruin my day.

Me too. I'm having to use a continue most playthroughs on easy mode. Still good fun though!
I'm pretty bad too. I haven't won a single game against a human online yet (played less than 10, though).

I find myself using Dante the most, as so far I'm most familiar with his moves and he's got a lot of variety. I keep coming back to Deadpool because he's funny and I seem to be pulling the pineapple surprise out of nowhere, even though I don't think I'm very good with him yet.

Yeah, I actually haven't gotten anyone's health down on any of their characters to less than 60%. The last few times, the person I was up against had all three do their ultra (whatever it is called) moves in succession. And I was struggling just to do one of them.
It certainly is fun, though.

I did manage to beat Arcade mode...on easy. People online are just all up on you relentlessly. I need to find a lobby for people who suck.

I haven't actually played enough to become comfortable with any team in particular, though it's shaping up to be the following:

Dante
Taskmaster
Captain America

I've also taken extreme interest in Wesker, Iron Man, and Deadpool, but it looks like the above may end up being my main team.

As for tips on controlling them, there's no point in me giving tips, seeing as I seem to suck ass at this game. I haven't played online because I'm pretty sure that everyone there is either really skilled or really cheap bullshit-happy, and in either case I'd get raped.

So I'll be sticking with Offline until I get good enough to clear Arcade Mode on the highest difficulty with minimal trouble. However, Arcade Mode pisses me the fuck off because Normal is easy as hell, but Hard beats me into the fucking ground past Round 3. Gradual increase in difficulty this is not.

If it weren't for the overall high quality game design and the fact that this is going to be balls-stompingly awesome when my skills are actually worth a shit, I wouldn't even play this fucking thing. It certainly doesn't help that I'm essentially relearning how to use a Dualshock D-pad to play this sort of game (2D fighter), seeing as the game is not only very particular about how I handle the pad, but also very particular about the timing for cancelling.

So, yeah. Hit me up in seven months and I might just barely be not shitty at this game.

Ryu
Wolverine
Deadpool

Nothing better then seeing Shin Handoken, Berserker Barrage X, and Happy Happy Trigger as a hyper cross combination. Plus come on it's fucking Deadpool

I wish there were more options. I'm bored of Arcade Mode; I was hoping for a Story Mode of some sorts....
Though I'm curious to see what the DLC's Shadow Mode is...
