This looks fucking insane. Is this actually a decent show though?

I was, after all, referring to all those animes that people can't seem to shut up about.
I used to watch it when I was a kid, I can't remember much.
It's about some kid who liked to moon people and just generally be inappropriate. I think they had to start censoring it after a while.

I can't imagine it was too good storyline-wise though. :p

The Japanese dub does tend to be better a fair amount of the time though.
Some of the English dubs make me physically shudder.
Do you know whether they are planning to dub K-ON? Imagine Yui in the english dub...
I've never watched K-ON, so I don't really know much about it.

Most popular anime tends to get English dubs at some point though.

Why is everyone white? Shouldn't everyone be Japanese or at least look more Asian? Hegemony sucks.

Single Stroke Battle [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SingleStrokeBattle]

It's not limited solely to anime, but I absolutely cannot stand this.

Yui is the brown haired one who hugs Azusa at the beginning.

Jeez, finding a decent voice-sample is hard, the best I could find was that.
Edit: I'd say the beginning of the third clip is the best example of what her voice is like.

Edit: One of the openings might be a better example.

The OVER THE TOP ANIME REACTIONS!

They anger me...

Hate to say it, but this. It's the reason why I don't really dig anime as a whole, just a few select series. I just can't bond with the characters when they spam those stupid expressions.

The art style. It is the same.
Well that's just plainly not true. Compare Yu Gi Oh with a Studio Ghibli film with Cowboy Bebop with Grave of the Fireflies. Anime has plenty of variation in it's art-style, it's just that most of the popular (and new) stuff is drawn in the same damned way.

The dumbass.
Sure, most of the characters in an anime are idiots, but they at least OCCASIONALLY do something moderately intelligent. Except for one character, who's purpose in life is to fail the epic battle of breathing and walking at the same time, let alone Think of anything whatsoever. (Kon in Bleach... I could go on, alot)

Im also tired of high school setting animes. I now most anime's like this are shounen anime for people in high school but can we please get more verite. Aswell as seeing the same charactor stereotypes over and over again: An angist ant-social main charactor, a shy ant-social main charactor, a short temper stovern charactor, a main female charator how has strong felling for main charactor. But to shy about it, so shys away from him or for whatever reason turn violentt to him. heared that befor. I don't expect ever anime to try something complatle new. But Im seeing to many anime that are to same old same old.

I don't have any...

I actually sort of like the over the top reactions, if they're well done.

I'll just use this space to complain that Death Note went downhill halfway through.

Edit: Oh wait. The main character that knows nothing about girls and messes up his relationship by being too agressive and such. Examples: Suzuka and what little I have seen of School days.
This is because Japan is so sexually repressed that that IS the genuine reaction of most of its male population...

Thank you. I've been trying to tell some of my anime-head friends that (of course, non-anime acclimitized people are worse, but with them I don't even bother) but I haven't found anyone who agrees with me.

OT: I've said my piece. I'm allowed to thank an intelligent person!

I would like to see a little more innovation in terms of art and technical achievement.

I've only seen 2 seasons of Darker Than Black, all of Mushi-Shi, bunch of random Fullmetal Alchemist episodes (same with DBZ), first season of Rueni Kension (spelled that wrong :/, and bits and pieces of Vampire Knight, Spice and Wolf, Code Geass and Ghost in the Shell (SAC or something). I understand my view is narrow, but this isn't to say some anime I've seen hasn't been innovative and technically different than the rest. I thought Spirited Away was flippin' amazing and I really did enjoy watching the said shows above, but much of anime to me in general seems to be calculated and generic in terms of design. This isn't to say that their is anime out there that is awesomely innovative, I'm just unaware of it.

Also, a big part of anime and animation in general is a matter of taste and opinion. I for some reason can't seem to like anything Disney makes except for a handful of Pixar films. I also tend to gravity more towards animation that has heavy usage of boldness in terms of visual contrast (like The Boondocks for example or recently Afro Samurai which I just started to watch). I know this is a terrible analogy, but anime watchers also remind me of extreme metal music listeners (like those that listen to Metalcore, Black Metal, Death Metal etc.) To the mainstream a lot of vocals in these sub-genres of metal sound the same, but I and others can easily hear noticeable differences, which is what I am assuming anime watchers can do with different art styles and such (I don't watch enough anime to be able to really differentiate).

That music was annoying. The video was nice thought (although it might be a little bit to vested in it's thinking). Still the fact that both Americans and Japanese can both precive a character as one of there own is ever more interesting! Self image is such a complex and wonderful thing.

I hate it when the characters re-iterate plot points which everyone grasped more than 10 episodes ago, and stupidly easy resolutions like how naruto talked with nagato.
