It would be Kaidan Alenko from Mass Effect/2, because he's the same whiny, angst-ridden voice used for Carth Onasi in KOTOR. I wanted to shoot Carth. In the face. With his own gun.
Dom from Gears of War, went from badass (Gears 1) to this whiny *****. The WHOLE game he whines about his wife, yes that's a moving thing for sure, but this is a shooter where everything is supposed to be badass and chaotic. Now after doing something insane, cue Dom to start crying. Carmine should have lived and Dom should have died.
I get they were going for more story in Gears 2, but they fell flat on their face especially with Dom, seriously.

He's boring as shit. Its just kill, scream, kill, kill some more, cover yourself in blood, look like Marcus Fenix, kill for no reason.
At least Master Chief had a personality and a reason for killing.
Also I can't get into Gordon Freeman, he's never said a damned thing.

OT: Kratos from the God of War franchise.
He's selfish beyond belief, going as far as to literally cause the apocolypse, thereby effectively wiping out mankind by killing all the gods in order to exact revenge on them for not living up to their end of the bargain.
It doesn't matter how you look at it, Kratos is an outright villian protagonist with absolutely no redeeming qualities.
Him being utterly unlikable actually makes it impossible for me to like what would be an otherwise enjoyable series of games.
Oh man, I can't remember his name but the rebel leader in Red Dead Redemption. Dude was such a dick.

Reaver, as he appeared in Fable 3. They took his character angle from Fable 2 (Godless, kill-stealing, back-stabbing, egocentric prick) and ratcheted up to eleven. The end result was that he was a Godless, kill-stealing, back-stabbing, egocentric, antagonistic, condescending, physically/mentally abusive, balverine-fucking, money-grubbing ************ who was so greedy that he killed everyone in the entire goddam country. I drove my kingdom into the gutter just because he was the one who told me how to save it. I amso pissed off that they didn't let me pop him between the eyes.

And with the same actor, Welkin from Valkyria Chronicles. It has some of the worst dialogue in any game I can remember (and all the interesting characters are bit characters like Marina), but he really stands out as the most frustrating, whiny, Mary Sue-ish character in there.
I had to play the game with Japanese audio just to get away from that nasal scratching that is his voice.
Vanille really wasn't as bad as people give her credit for. Hope, however, is an amalgamate of all the worst characters in anime and JRPGs since the eighties.
