Navi. Pretty self explanatory. I used her once or twice in Orcarina of Time and NEVER used her again after that. So damn annoying.

Dom from Gears of War, went from badass (Gears 1) to this whiny *****. The WHOLE game he whines about his wife, yes that's a moving thing for sure, but this is a shooter where everything is supposed to be badass and chaotic. Now after doing something insane, cue Dom to start crying. Carmine should have lived and Dom should have died.

I get they were going for more story in Gears 2, but they fell flat on their face especially with Dom, seriously.
well the Anthony and Benjamin Carmine are like the red shirts from Star trek they always die. But in the 3rd gears of war game people have(or had depending if the contest is still going) to save or kill Clay Carmine(if you seen the screen shoots of him look major badass unlike his other 2 younger siblings) and don't forget D.Carmine as well.

Dom only had one thing motivating him for the past ten years and that was his wife "Maria" it was the only thing that kept him sane. When E-day(Emergance Day the day the Locust attack Humanity) happened 15 years ago before Gears 1/2 he lost his two kids and parents not to mention Maria became suicidal.

Cole still writes letter to his dead Mom and Baird was forced to join the COG(Coalition of Ordered Governments) to get his family's inheritances and marcus lost his mother when he was young and his father is presume dead. So Dom wasn't the only one suffering but he was the only one had a remote chance of finding his love one unlike the others

I hope this helps you understand Dom a bit better now.
I understood plenty well prior, but that doesn't change how they show him in the game. I get it, it's emotional and all that but he never stops with it. It's a very action heavy game, and he's the one who keeps harping on about it.

Ripley from Aliens is VERY emotionally torn up by the loss of her daughter, and that shows through amazingly well with Newt. They have ONE scene showing her crying over her daughter and one scene crying with Newt. The rest of her emotions and feelings show through her actions which is far more impacting than talking about it constantly.

Dom never stops, he's relentless and it drains the mood from the game. Every scene he's in he goes on about his wife. And...spoiler warning.

It's not like his wife being tortured and looking beat up was hard to see coming. It was either that or she was dead and it was obvious what was going to happen when he saw her in that state.

Carmines death was FAR more moving because it truly did suck, he survived all that and was doing his best despite being so green he couldn't reload in the beginning. And he died and just wanted his family to know he'd be okay. And it fit even in an action game like Gears to have someone die in such a sad way. It worked and you truly felt it.

Dom was not well written in that game, there's a difference between emotional distress and whining and he was doing a lot of the latter.

Carth and all the other "New Carths" from Bioware games.

Carth was a whiny little shit.
Kaiden was so boring and useless there wasn't a single moment in game that I used him past where it was necessary.
Alister was also useless and pretty annoying as well.

At least they were all pretty terrible party members so I never had to suffer from leaving them on the ship or at camp all the time.

Hopefully their ditching of Kaiden for the majority/entirety of Mass Effect 2 will stick and they'll let that archetype die.

I would have to say mine is Resetti from animal crossing.

that little arse ruined so much game time, it just made me want to switch the game off again and never play it again.

so whats your most hated game character?
To be fair, if you didn't reset your game so much, he wouldn't take up so much of your time.

OT: Rikku from FFX. Not only does she serve little to the plot, she's also annoying as hell. Her voice is irritating, she takes up way too much screen time, and it's quite disturbing how Square made a few fan-service moments with her. She's 15 people!!

Basically every character that you meet in the first hour of Final Fantasy XIII clunked heads in the doorway of this thread for me. And I say first hour because that's the grand total of time I played that game. I hated EVERYONEEE, even fake Kurt Cobain.
noooooooo, you have to give them time to deveeeeelop as chaaaaaaracters!!!!!

those guys are cool, but i never liked leisure suit larry. what a dick.
An hour is more than enough time. I give way less time to real people.

But Carmine wore a helmet to protect his head like a silly person, so naturaly he MUST die. As for me, Bayonetta, I never actually played the game but i just dont like what she represents which to me is the appealing to the lowest common denominator in the gaming industry (which is this case would be shameless, immature sex appeal) and dont gimme that "its supposed to be absurd/ironic" crap

I think it's more about Bayonetta being camp...I thought the same thing but the DMC gameplay and the silly nature of the cutscenes really makes for a strange and interesting game. ..With a character with legs longer than you are tall.

You guys clearly don't play jRPGs because the current crop has a whole bunch of aweful characters you just want to strangle. Star Ocean: The Last Hope has such horrible voice acting that almost all the characters in the game are more annoying than any one mentioned here.

The worst by far is the little girl (Lemel or something like that) who literally ends every single sentence with "mmkay".

Anyway, I think I'm quitting jRPGS forever because I've only found one this generation I really liked (Tales of Vesperia), although FFXIII wasn't too terrible.

Cole "WOO, IMMA BE A BIG 'OL BLACK STEREOTYPE, BABY!" Train.

How I hate him more than every character in Final Fantasy 8 combined baffles me. It's a pretty revealing bit of insight, I suppose, to know how these people perceive a black athlete turned soldier. For me it's about as bad as a white man in black face screaming "MAMMY" at me for as long as I play the game and Cole is talking.

1. Semyor Guado, he was simply irritating and keep coming back no matter how many times i killed him, seriously he beat the sheer often cringing idiotic ability of Tidus to ruin the immersion.

2. Sheva's AI on Insane diffuculty, I could put up with her otherwise but f*ck sake don't walk at Wesker you dumbass. he will hit you and cant get over there to save you in the under 1 seconds insane gives you to help someone, oh yea and that was irritating to.

3. the writing in Alpha Protocol, I could forgive the blandness of Thornton, if he didn't sound like and ass-hole 9/10, seriously if I pick suave I want something Bond the OTT sexual innuendo master might say not "hey you look good when I can barely see you", and dam is that guy bland, he's like the colour beige.

4. Not a person but the odd way the characters in ANY FF game are put together, there's allways a emo-teen (Tidus, Hope ect) and very very very excitable often irritating one (Vannile, Yuffie, Rikku) the often cool Badass (Auron, Pain (Pain was only in FFX-2 and for that fact only she is the most hated creating in the history of JRPG's) i could go on but I wont.

5 again not really a person per-say but "Greifers", these are a unique group in MMORPG's who pray on noobs, who while irritating can be excused for it, come on be nice to the noobs they have to learn, "baiting", "flipping" (id add wow tricks but I dont play it) ect are there tricks of the trade, and these can sometime ruin an experience for noobs, guys wait, let them learn then kill them when they go where there not safe PVP aera's, low-sec what ever. note i don't hate scammers in games (eve-online is a good example) the scams are so easy to spot if you fall for it you bloody deserve it idiot.

ill stop here and apologise now for the length, grammer and spelling

I'm terrible at explaining things, someone is probably going to have to correct me with this.

A guy walking away from a building while putting on sunglasses as it explodes. That's a campy move, trying to be cool in a cheesy way. But Bayontta seems to know how cheesy and campy it is (trying to be cool) that it just ...works.

I'm not trying to defend the game to you, if you hate it, you hate it. But I think it's worth giving a chance. It was like Saints Row to my friends, they said the game was "gay gangsta crap" and I said the game knows what it's doing and if you sit with it, you realize it doesn't take itself seriously and it becomes very fun.

Like I said, I'm terrible at explaining things.

See the problem is... the guy is actually like that. He's been in a few commercials and he is EXACTLY as he is in Gears.

Even if it is an act that he puts on, that's how he is. I was just as surprised.

Edit: Dammit now I see my post, what's going on today I can never see my posts till like an hour later.

No i get what ur saying, but its basically the "its supposed to be absurd/ironic" defense i mentioned, but i can certainly live and let live if you like that game, at least we can agree that killing Carmine for wearing head-protective gear (with a headshot, mind you) is silly
-and all the other COGs killed for wearing helmets

Varian Wrynn, god what a warmongering dick, he and Garrosh should just compare penises, get it over with, and let the REAL leaders do the leading.
^ This, >.> should jus let 'em go at it and kill themselves. Both are easily hateable, but here's what gets me hatin Varian more (Aside the fact he's a human). They try to make him like-able with that one lil scene in Alliance ICC at Saurfang...but then right after when Stormwind's taxing people out of their homes...he spends the money to upgrade his castle (not fix the parts of the city that were destroyed) and have a giant marble statue of himself made. >.> So it kinda crushes his lil "But really, I'm a like-able guy" scene. At least Garrosh's lil "Maturing, becoming a like-able character" scene (The "YOU ARE DISMISSED" quest) isn't followed up by douchery...er...yet, at least. D: Also, Varian killed my buddy Putress...I would've betrayed the Horde for that guy!

Oh, and Soul Calibur's Kilik. Eff that cheap goody-goody. Long range, high damage, fast, and spam all in one? H8
