Probably Mario Kart Wii. No 2 player Grand Prix, Bikes making Karts worthless, and retarded requirements for character unlocks made it not as good as it should have been. The only thing I really play it for is Online if I am not just playing Double Dash.

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazzar. All the tedium of the Harvest Moon games without any of the parts I enjoyed.

I also have an opposite, I got FFX-2 on sale expecting it to be horrible, and found that I actually like the game a lot. Just about everything I had been basing my opinion of it on was disproved not too long in and I'm the type who loves sidequests, so I ended up loving the game.

So which is your most regretted game purchase and why?
Most recently: Fallout New Vegas.
I was expecting it to be glitchy but I thought they could make something at least half as tight as Fallout 3. But rather than being just twice as glitchy as Fallout 3 it was more like 10x. I really wasn't expecting it to be that bad. So here we are a few months (and a few patches) later and it still runs like crap.

Before that, it was No More Heroes. Everyone said it was amazing but I have yet to find minigames on the wii that are more tedious than those. Add to that a pointless & dead overworld and repetitive & uninspired action rounds, all this game had that was somewhat interesting was a couple of the boss battles that weren't mind numbingly repetitive and filled with QTEs.
That one got me to start renting again.

I once bought Sega Classics Collection for the PS2 mistaking it for the other Sega Genesis Collection. I gave it a shot anyway and 10 mins later decided to bring back to the store the next day.

Black Ops PC. My computer simply lacks the RAM to run it >_<
While the game is not very good, how did you not think to go on CanYouRunIt before buying it, or any PC game, for that matter? Their analysis is usually pretty spot-on.

On-Topic, Black Ops PC, I didn't like it and it's still very buggy, uninstalled yesterday, went back to CoD4.

Also Fable 2.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - I had neither the patience or the ability to have my ass handed to me time and time again and I couldn't figure out how to get off the floor quick enough before I was killed. Shame really, because I was really enjoying it up to a point.

Tenchu Z - Glitchy and awkward and I loved one of the original PS games so I was astonished that the series had managed to get worse some 10 years on - graphics, handling, everything.

I love 'ninja' games, so I think the fact that I couldn't play either of them was an even bigger disappointment.

and would it be considered a bad thing to say from what I've seen so far I've enjoyed 9-10 games listed on this thread?

Alone in the Dark.
I even after the grind of burning satan's penises that it turns out i didn't have to do, I found I disagreed with their decision as to what the 'good' ending was.

GTA4. I knew it was shit,I had written the game off knowing there was no way it would be good.
Then my friends defended it saying that all the dross could be avoided easily enough (they lied) and I found it selling for five dollars (still not worth it.)
I'm sure that game would give arthritis if played start to finish since it takes mashing the A to walk at a decent speed, the cars are impossible to maneuver even in a straight line, and the more I played, the less I had both in game and in life. It made me want to kill it in a real GTA game.
holy crap, that exact same thing happened to me, although I managed to finsih it, its nothing compared to other GTA's

Kane and Lynch 2. I've never been physically sick because of a game, but this is the very first game that manages to do so.

Mass Effect 2. Loved Mass Effect 1, loved Bioware, so i decided why not. Bought it home, played it, and discovered they had removed everything i liked about it, and replaced it with... urgh.

Two Worlds, hands down. Few titles could match it in a contest like this one.

Royal Edition even...

I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know about it at the time T_T
Plus my computer could run every other new release just fine, but not BO for whatever reason.
