But I'll stick to King Arthur because he's she's just badass.

What's that from?
That's some Fanart, I assume. It's from the game/manga/anime series Fate/Stay Night.

It's pretty decent. If you want to know everything anything about it, just ask NeutralDrow. He's a big fan.
I just might. :)

I've only recently gotten into anime/manga, but the ones I've seen/read so far have been quite good.
I recommend you don't read the manga.
Many people swear to the anime, until they play the game, that is.

I'm icelandic so a lot of norse stuff here but there are also many local legends. I guess the main legend would be the one about our guardians a poisonous dragon, a giant fire breathing bull, a giant eagle and a giant, all of them larger then mountains and how they deterred an invasion from Norway.

The guardians on the icelandic coat of arms

Another fun legend is about our elves. You see our elves don't live in forests but in rocks and hills and are evil bastards. In the olden times they stole children, tricked people (tried to make you do stuff that would kill you), killed people that they didn't like etc. But they are still kinda relevant in the modern life in Iceland since if a rock or a hill is an elverock/hill then we will not build on it and we lay our roads around it.

EDIT: Oooh I almost forgot about out the Julelads they are like santa claus just there are 13 of them and their parents are trolls. They used to be horrible, trick people steal stuff etc but now they just bring good children 1 present each from 12.-24. december when they come to town (in addition to the normal christmas presents), but bad children get potatoes.

And yet we praised the Norse gods for more then half a century.

Well some of us still do, and why wouldn't we? The Norse gods and myths are as much part of our culture as it's a part of theirs.

Wait, do both Roswell and Area 51 count as mythology and legends?
You know, because they are both very alien heavy, and shrouded in secrecy?

Or do you mean mythology and legends like stories?
Because thats what we don't have a lot of.
I don't think America has mythology, seeing as it was founded by Europeans and all.
Oh? [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navaho_mythology] Maybe [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_the_Conqueror] you're [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bunyan] right. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Appleseed] We don't have mythology.

I wouldn't call Sinterklaas mythology. The only real mythology we have is the Saxon mythology which is basically the Norse mythology except that we call Odin "Wodan" and have some more similar Dutchified names for stuff.

Jersey Devil? Bigfoot?

Australia has hundreds because of the Aboriginals. The best one I know is the Bunyip.

This is basically all of Canadian mythology.

http://www.ucalgary.ca/applied_history/tutor/firstnations/myths.html

There's also probably modern mythology (1000 A.D. onwards) but I don't know what it would be. I did hear though that in the east Wolff is considered a hero. According to the history channel, his victory over the French was completely overblown basically to give the people someone to worship and make the British Empire more powerful, but probably not to ensure good relations between Anglo and Franco Canadians. Thanks guys, they almost separated 14 years ago. (jk)

Anyway, this ancient song probably has a lot of modern Canadian mythology in it. I found it in an old song book called "Canada Sings" and apparently the fact that most people have forgotten it is a cultural tragedy and the youth of today have no respect for the past and all our history being forgotten and... ya. Anyway, it's called "The Maple Leaf Forever."

In days of yore, from Britain's shore,
Wolfe, the dauntless hero came,

And planted firm Britannia's flag,
On Canada's fair domain.
Here may it wave, our boast, our pride,
And joined in love together,
The thistle, shamrock, rose entwine

The Maple Leaf forever!
Chorus:
The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear,
The Maple Leaf forever!
God save our Queen, and Heaven bless,
The Maple Leaf forever!

At Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane,
Our brave fathers, side by side,
For freedom, homes, and loved ones dear,
Firmly stood and nobly died;
And those dear rights which they maintained,
We swear to yield them never!
Our watchword evermore shall be,
The Maple Leaf forever!

Chorus:
Our fair Dominion now extends
From Cape Race to Nootka Sound;
May peace forever be our lot,
And plenteous store abound:
And may those ties of love be ours
Which discord cannot sever,
And flourish green o'er freedom's home
The Maple Leaf forever!
Chorus:
On merry England's far famed land
May kind heaven sweetly smile,
God bless old Scotland evermore
and Ireland's Em'rald Isle!
And swell the song both loud and long
Till rocks and forest quiver!
God save our Queen and Heaven bless
The Maple Leaf forever!
Chorus:

Here's a link if anyone wants to hear it.

I should know more about it, but my ancestors killed most of their historians off with smallpox blankets and hot lead.

Yeah, that's why I said I wasn't sure.
And: wait, we have that? Isn't that the same as calling God God, but in a dutch-sounding-way?
