your one way trip through time

Oh noes! You wake up tomorrow to find every nuclear missile in the world has launched simultaneously and EVERYTHING in the world will be turned to ash 5 minutes from now.

You also discover that there is a time machine outside your house, "well this should be easy" you think to yourself. But there's a catch. there is only enough power in the time machine for a single one-way trip into the past, no going into the future.

And before someone says this no you cannot stop the nuclear apocolypse. It is completely inevitible no matter who you kill in the past.

After this trip the machine will immediatly disintegrate, you may also take a single real world item that must exist right now.

So escapists, where would you go, when would you go. Would you even go or would you let someone else be saved from certain doom.

As for me i would land directly above an egyptian pharoh during a speech and just be like "ta-da!" and be hailed as some sort of god.

Hmm, Well I'd go back 10years since I know the location of the time machine I can go back there in 10years time to find it again as my younger self is using it and from then I can tell myself if it was worth going back those 10years or not.
