I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I like some vodka every now and then. Whiskey is also pretty good, I'm not a fan of the sweet stuff like wine, just the stuff that burns as you drink it.

I have not had a single alcoholic beverage but I will shortly be at drinking age. What should I try as my first drink? Should I expect my first drink to suck or be amazing?

Its gonna taste like horse shit. Some people have the lucky alcohol taste buds that can drink anything, for most it is terrible. You are after all drinking juices of rotten fruits and veggies.

Its generally an acquired taste. I use to hate most of them, but drank them just to get the buzz (peer presure, yada yada yada), but now I generally love the taste. I cant get enough, even when I wanna stop.

My suggestion is a Jack and Coke. Sweet, while slowly warmin you up to the bite of liquor.

OT: My favorite is 2 cubes and Southern Comfort. My first good experience with alcohol, now my favorite drink.

In all honesty, all heavy alcoholic beverages range from "do not mind" to "awesome!" It is only beer I find absolutely vile. I do have a tendency to fancy fruit drinks more than others, albeit my usual drink of preference is diet pepsi and rum.

I almost always drink beers; I mostly prefer ales, but I'll try pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I don't have a specific favorite ? I like to try whatever new craft beer happens to be available.

I don't really like liquor that much, so I don't have a specific 'drink.' I've taken to mixing Sailor Jerry's into ginger ale, though.
