Your Problems With Modern Warfare 2

Before I state why my cons for the game I actually enjoy playing it.

My first problem with the game is all the bullcrap you have to do to unlock the all the weapons.
Another thing is when some comes around a corner right at me and I shot at them with my shotgun I still end up dieing from a knife stab.

Outside of being taunted for being a 'crappy girl gamer' on there, my only real complaints are that the game suffers from balancing issues. A large majority of the people on there will only use certain guns, (I'm looking at you akimbo shotgunners) and they usually rule the maps. It's also a twitch-shooter, relying on reflexes rather than strategy, anyone who does find a strategy gets called a camper. (I'm a sniper I hide and shoot people, idiot)

thus the game is obviously pandering towards younger teenaged boys who like to pretend they are rambo.

Most of the supposedly "mature" games pander towards teenage boys and it's sad that while video games are now considered to be a mainstream interest, many developers feel the need to treat their audience like teenage dumbasses.

I think they shouldn't have tried to make the multiplayer "better" than CoD4's.
CoD4's multiplayer was pretty dam good, there were few balance issues (if any) and it was OK for new players to join in amongst the higher ranks.

They spent so much time trying to make MW2 more awesome and flashy than CoD4 that they forgot to balance it out and make sure it worked. Thats why to me, it sucks.

The unbalanced weapons for me.
If someone's new to the game, don't give them the bad guns and the people who've had practice the better guns!

I know it's like this in several games, but it's still the main reason I dislike MW2.

I've been playing it again yesterday(since sometime in the Spring or February when I took a break from it). Honestly, that part wasn't really related.

I wanna know why people hate it. I find it so-so.

People complain about the story because they don't understand that it is technically a alternate universe, so modern-day geo-politics don't apply.

I personally love this game. A short and sweet single-player + fun multiplayer + spec ops.

Ya im always trying to get the to see value story has in a game, thanks to games like Red Dead Redemption they are starting to see the light, but most are still having trouble caring about story in any game with heavy multiplayer.

Because CoD4 actually takes skill, a n00b won't beat a seasoned vet at CoD4, whereas in MW2 I often saw 13 year olds n00btube their way to victory then act like they're the shit.

Now this is just my opinion, but I honestly feel that Modern Warfare 2 is to games as Macs are to computers, Macs = dumbed down computers so stupid people can understand them, Modern Warfare 2 = An easier version of CoD4 with n00b weapons so people who were bad at CoD4 could feel good.

You can't transform into a truck and run someone over, or transform into a jet and perform bombing runs on your enemies.

Now if only someone would make a game that took the multiplayer from CoD, and apply it elsewhere. Maybe to a licensed property that was normally treated pretty shitty in gaming, but took it seriously anWAIT A MINUTE!!!

Being good or not has nothing to do with it. My W/L ratio is better than that guy but i have the same complaints about it. I am about a 1/1 W/L spread.

My main problem is that the single player has so many gaping plot holes, such as Sheperds never explained betrayal, who the hell "raptor" is, why the tattoos of the trooper in the panic room were so damn significant, as well as all the fact that no mission is ever as good as "death from above" or "all ghillied up". The multiplayer I actually like for the most part, except the maps aren't as good as COD4's maps were. It just seems like the game was rushed to completion in order to hit the release date.

Ok, that's not all of it, but it is not as bad as people make it out to be. There are server problems and the campaign is too short. The online is supposedly unbalanced, but I don't understand that. So long as you're somewhat capable at shooters, the online is fun. I've never found myself the victim of 'n00bs' an unreasonable amount, and I'm barely a great player. The maps aren't great (not as good as MW, and nowhere close to WaW), but the bare fact remains that it has the best splitscreen ever.

Not to sound like an elitist dildo, but things that appeal to the "mainstream" tend to suck because they must appeal to the lowest common denominator. The American pop culture of the 2000s is a testament to this.

Yeah, it makes me actually kinda curious about Black Ops. WaW was a vast improvement to MW, and Treyarch have said that if they thought something was stupid in MW2, they were gonna axe it/change it.
Curious indeed to what sort of game they're going to put out.

Yeah, hopefully Activision won't screw them over.

I wouldn't say I HATE MW2, but the hype completely ruined it. The first day I had the game, I ended up in a game lobby with so many twelve-year-olds scumbags it wasn't even funny, not that the idea was funny to begin with.
Also, I just completely suck at FPS's in general, and it's fairly easy to get bored when you're getting killed like crazy and having to keep editing classes after every game.

I feel your pain. Also, my friend some guy I know in real life but is an asshole invited me to a party and since I got Dragon Ball Raging Blast instead of MW2 he decides to call me a fag and all the other people say that Dragon Ball is for five year olds. They basically degraded me. So I got it the next day much to my displease and it is for noobs. I sucked at CoD 4 and was able to kill a lot of people on my first day. My only mistake was that I sold Raging Blast before MW2 and now I really want RB back. But yeah, if you want to play a FPS then go play something like TF2. That shit is great.

I loathe it. They took my favorite multiplayer of all time and turned it into a gimmicky-camper-friendly-appeal-to-the-masses-dumbed-down-unbalanced-clusterfucky bitchfest. Basically they ruined the game's balance with a bunch of extra garbage to satisfy the mouth breathers, instead of fixing the small issues like making your bullets and camera come out of the barrel of your gun and through your eyes respectively, INSTEAD OF THE TOP OF YOUR DAMN HEAD. I'm not a realism or die person, but it's fucking annoying to be shot by someone's cowlick.
