I'm kinda obsessed with ZP, and then I started looking around in between watching ZP reviews! I know that sounds lame, but it's true

I stay here because I like the community and the forums are one of my main sources of information now. The videos are good to cure boredom too.

I came here and got addicted back before the entire deja nazi thing began, which is quite recent. Now it's just got a bit jaded and elitist so I post less and less. It's weird, in 5-6 months I've seen it go from just laid back to repeat threads full of "IBTL and reported", with the occasional thread I don't feel like posting in, mainly because it feels like the fifth time I've seen a thread like that. It usually isn't but...I don't know it's just a bit weird.

What made me come here, Yahtzee, I stay because I like seeing the same thread by a different person every other day.

Actually it was because I got a 5 day ban from gamespot for critisizing their way of reviewing games. So I came here. Not nearly as many ass holes here either.

I stay because the people here arn't just some stupid punk who can only say "PWNED" or "NOOB" as a retort.

I stay at these forums, because I just don't feel connected to the other forums I used to got to, also this website is relevant to my interests, so people don't get bored when I start rambling about videogames.

The various contests that The Escapist hold regularly are very nice to join in on whenever they host them.

I was browsing through the videos and saw an interesting topic on one of the "What's New?" lists. I clicked on it out of curiosity, read it, moved to another, and another, and eventually decided to get an account and start posting. I stayed, however, for the conversations that I've had with all the people here. It very much resembles my high school philosophy club, an experience that I regret doesn't occur every day. I love intelligent discussion, and, thereby, I love the Escapist forums.

My therapist says it's good for me to communicate with people close to my intellectual capacity.

That and it beats Youtube.

Apologies to the Youtube community, but it's true.

Less and less each day
Doki, if you leave this place there will be much sadness. Sadness and ceremonies. I feel at least a marginal amount of your pain (despite having been here less than 2 months).

I haven't found a german gaming forum yet where you can actually DISCUSS about gaming stuff that go beyond "Do you think this Game is/will be good" and similar things. Also less fanboys (however, more smug PC elitists)

Problem is of course, that i am in a different time zone here, so i post most stuff when most people are asleep.

(Also i've been a long time reader of the escapist from back where this site was more of a magazine than a "portal", so to say, with almost all of the focus on the weekly essays and articles)

Because I can´t talk about videogames in my everyday life.

On an unrelated note, I miss The Taxi Driver, and Juandonde. They always made me laugh (which is something I don´t normally do).

Honestly i stay around for unforgotten realms now. Alot of people with massive post counts are snobbish and really ruin the forums for me now. Sad really.
Crap I need a high post count to be snobbish here?

Well there goes my evening plans.

To OP: I'm here because you guys tell me when someone quotes me...which I like. I hate forgetting about a debate and coming back to "HE NEVER RESPONDED THAT MEANS I'M RIGHT!" :p.

Anywho...I'm gonna go watch this 'escapist show' see if its as entertaining as ZP.

Everyone here just seems to know what they're talking about, whereas if you go to Gamespot, it seems to be mainly casual gamers,
but here people have opinions, about games and about life, and i really like that.
I am however a member of Gamespot too :S
Also, i have nothing to do after school, so here i am :)

At the moment, it's partially the strange collection of intelligence in one place, and partially my hopeful upcoming participation in an RP here. Either way, I plan to stay.

I signed up for the debate. These days I mostly stay for the IRC and the company there. Occasionally something will spark my interest, but that is happening less and less it seems.

Originally, I joined for Mobius.
A few days later I stayed for... Well it would take me quite a while to list everyone, so I'll just say "You fellas" and leave it at that.
Now, I stay in the hope that Doki doesn't leave.

I'm very people orientated

It helps my writing to think that there is an outside possibility that someone might read it and respond to it critically. Even if they don't.

Without The Escapist forums a lot of my ideas on Game Design and the Narratology/Ludology debate would be rather "woolly".

Maybe, someday I will get myself a blog, but I expect they're a lot of work to maintain and I have other interests at the moment.

I am to lazy to try to find people outside the internet to have smart conversations with so when I found this site it was a godsend.

The forums seem to be going downhill with so many "What is your favourite type of random object?" threads.
